Chapter 24: Hospital (Part II)

***Rory's POV***

          "Hey" I hear Ben say, softly putting his hand on my back. "Hey. How is she?" I ask and look up at him. "She's okay. The doctor said that she has a stomach ulcer, so she's gonna be put on antibiotics. And the doctor has to figure out how she got the ulcer" He says.

          "Can I see her?" I ask and get up. "Of course. Our dad just got called back into work and if it's okay with you, I'm gonna run home and grab a change of clothes" Ben says and leads me to Marley's room.

          "Yeah, that's fine..." I say softly and bite my lip, following him. "You want to stay with her tonight, don't you?" Ben asks and stops outside of Marley's room, smiling at me.

          "Only if it's okay with you" I say and smile slightly. "It's fine with me. And I know you don't want to talk about whatever happened while you were gone, but I know you need a hug. So, come here" Ben says and holds his arms out to me.

          "Thank you..." I whisper and hug him, letting a few tears roll down my cheeks. "You're welcome. You have my number if you need me?" Ben asks and pulls away after another second.

          I nod and Ben leaves after I go into Marley's room. I walk over to her and grab her hand. "Hey, babe" I whisper.

***Marley's POV***

          "Hey" I whisper back and giggle softly, holding Rory's hand. "Can I hug you?" She asks and looks at me. Instead of responding, I gently pull her onto my bed and wrap my arms around her, kissing her cheek.

          "I'll take that as a yes" Rory says and giggles, hugging me back. I smile and lean against her softly, laying my head on her shoulder. "How's your stomach?" She asks and kisses my head, rubbing my back.

          "It hurts, but it could be worse" I say and close my eyes, lightly rubbing my nose against her neck. "I missed you so much" Rory whispers and giggles softly, running her fingers through my hair.

          "I missed you too" I whisper back and smile, holding onto Rory. She plays with my hair and holds me, sighing softly. "Will you stay with me tonight?" I ask shyly, looking up at her.

          "I already planned on staying" Rory says and smiles, kissing my nose. I smile and bite my lip, not knowing what to say.

          A nurse knocks on the door and then comes in. Rory shyly gets off of my bed, standing next to me. "Sorry if I'm interrupting anything. I just came to bring you your first dose of Amoxicillin" The nurse, Sasha, says and smiles at us, handing me a medicine cup and some water.

          "We're used to it" I say and giggle softly, downing the medicine and water. I see Rory blush out of the corner of my eye and I smile. "Well, just hit your call light if you need anything" Sasha says and smiles, leaving the room.

          "What exactly was she interrupting?" Rory asks and giggles, sitting back down. "A really sweet moment, with a really sweet girl" I say and smile, pecking Rory on the lips.

          Rory blushes and hugs me again, hiding her face in my neck. I hug her back and play with her hair, closing my eyes. I feel Rory take a shaky breath and sniffle, so I kiss her head and hold her. "What happened?" I whisper.

***Rory's POV***

          "It's nothing. It was just a stressful trip, and I was worried about you..." I whisper and hold onto Marley, not wanting to talk about what happened in Ireland.

          "It's okay. The trip is over now, and I'm fine. There's nothing to worry about now" Marley whispers back and rubs my back. I nod and close my eyes, holding back my tears.
