"I seriously feel like I'm fourteen again..." Rory groans and runs her fingers through her hair. "You shouldn't have to deal with this. You had a long enough day yesterday" I say and grab Rory's hand, pulling her off onto my lap and opening her door.
"Where are we going?" Rory asks and wraps her arms around me. "On an adventure" I smile and sneak us out of the house to get away from her parent's fighting.
"To where exactly?" Rory looks at me, giggling softly. "I don't know where we can go at 10:00 P.M. in Missouri" I say and giggle, looking at her. "The park? There's one near here that has wheelchair ramps" She says with a shrug, looking back at me.
"Sounds good" I say and smile. Rory smiles and gets up, pushing my chair for me. "Wait, I need to get something from my room real quick" I say to Rory when we start to pass my house.
"What do you need before we go to the park?" Rory asks and giggles, following me inside. "You'll see" I giggle and go to my room, passing Ben sleeping on the couch.
I grab my guitar case and look at Rory. "Will you carry this for me please?" I ask. "Sure" Rory says and smiles, taking the case from me. I smile and thank her, then we go to the park.
When we get there I take my guitar case back and Rory pushes me up the ramp to the top of the play structure. "What are you gonna play for me?" She smiles and locks my brakes, getting out my guitar for me before sitting on the floor.
"Hmmm..." I think about it for a second and then start strumming "Whatever It Is" by Zac Brown Band. Rory smiles and I start to sing quietly "She got a gentle way that puts me at ease. When she walks in the room, I can hardly breathe..." I stop and look down at my guitar, biting my lip.
"Keep going" Rory says and smiles, getting on her knees in front of me. I smile and start singing again, Rory singing with me this time. "She's got whatever it is... It blows me away. She's everything I wanted to say to a woman, but couldn't find the words to say... She's got whatever it is... I don't know what to do, because every time I try and tell her how I feel... It comes out "I love you""
Before I can start singing the next part, Rory leans forward, pecking me on the lips. We both blush and I bite my lip, setting my guitar down next to me. Rory smiles and puts it back in the case for me.
I smile and we go back to my house silently. We both change into pajamas and get in bed. I turn on a movie for us to watch and Rory turns off the light. We watch the movie.
After a while, I lean over and peck Rory on the lips. She smiles shyly and hides her face in my neck, wrapping her arms around me. I giggle softly and hold her, rubbing her back.
