Chapter 27: Prom

          "So, you're actually going to prom?" Ben asks while my grandma finishes doing my makeup. "Yes. Rory has to help chaperone, so I'm gonna go hang out with her" I say and smile.

          "What about Norah?" My grandma asks, looking at me. "She hasn't decided if she's going to come or not" I say, looking back at her. "Well, let's go show your dad how you look" She says and smiles, pushing me to the living room.

          My dad stands up and smiles when he sees me. "You look amazing, sweetheart" He says, tearing up slightly. "Thank you, dad" I say and smile, looking up at him.

          I take pictures with my dad, grandma, and Ben before getting in the truck. "You ready, sis?" Ben asks, looking at me. "Yeah. I'm ready" I say and smile.

          We pull up to the school a few minutes later and Ben puts me in my chair. "Do you want me to walk you in?" He asks and smiles. "No. I'm okay, but thank you" I say and smile back.

          "Have fun" Ben says and hugs me. "I'll try" I say and hug him back. He kisses my cheek and I giggle softly, going inside. I roll down the hallway toward the gym, seeing Rory standing at the door, taking tickets.

          "Hey! You came!" Rory says and smiles excitedly. "Yes I did, and I love your dress" I say and smile back at her. "I love your dress, too. You look amazing" She says and looks at me.

          "Thank you" I say and blush, looking down. "Well, I'm stuck "monitoring" the dance, but you should go have fun" Rory says and smiles.

          "I'll try to" I say and smile back, giving Rory my ticket before I go inside. I end up sitting between the bleachers so I'm kind of by myself. I sing quietly and watch everyone have fun.

***1 hour later***

          I sigh when I see McCarty walking over to me. "What do you want dude?" I ask, unlocking my brakes so I can leave. "Chill, Price. I don't bite" He says and laughs, smirking.

          "No, but you do shove me into lockers and have your minions do the same. Thanks for almost breaking my arm, by the way" I say and roll my eyes, starting to leave.

          "How about I actually break your arm? It seems far considering what you did to me" McCarty says and follows me. "You know what? I'm not doing this tonight" I say and shove past him, leaving the gym.

          I go down the hallway and sit by the lockers, quickly wiping my eyes. "You okay?" I hear a voice ask from behind me. I turn around and smile when I see her.

          "Yeah. I'm just tired of dealing with idiots" I say and giggle softly. "Well, would you like to dance? We can stay out here" She says and smiles.

          "I'd love to" I say and smile back. "Just wrap your arms around my neck and hold onto me" She says and locks my brakes, wrapping her arms around my neck.

          I hold onto her and she carefully lifts me up, holding me close to her. I smile and we slowly sway to the music, holding onto each other. I look at her, biting my lip.

          After a few minutes, she leans in and kisses me. I kiss her back after a second, smiling into the kiss. My first real kiss... It was magical...
