TaranMatharu is the great author of Summoner and Progeny Of The Fall (updated on Thursdays). Because I am obsessed with Fantasy, Science Fiction, Action and Adventure, I must say that his works are some of the novels on Wattpad I want to read so bad, but don't have enough time to!

The interview:

What made you join Wattpad?

I wanted to meet other writers like me, I had never really encountered people with the same passion for writing and reading. I also really wanted to get feedback on my writing and see if people liked it! Interestingly enough, when I worked at Penguin Random House, my boss said it was a great new platform that many publishers were interested in. He even mentioned it in the speech he gave at my University!

Who do you thank most here on Wattpad, for helping you?

Wow, that would be a crazy long list! I think bababoey2u, Nereus, ParthPatel93, prissydixie, DonaldSmith0, AmyBailey6, Wynterra, moonlight1001, NikkiS and onceuponalife are some of my most loyal fans who have been there from the start. I also have to thank JessicaBFry for taking the time to go through my book and edit it, which was hugely appreciated.

What is your favourite book on Wattpad (Other than your own)?

Gosh, I think I would have to say that I adore all of the fanfiction for Summoner more than anything else on Wattpad. I think it’s because I know the characters and world so well and every single fanfic is written by an awesome fan! I have a reading list on my profile where I keep all of them ☺.

What is your favourite of your own books?

Summoner is definitely my favourite, although I have two or three others in the works!

Do you have any ideas for a next novel? And, if so, can you give us a sneak peek?

Yes! You can read it on my profile, The Pantheon’s Playthings. After the Summoner series is finished, that is next on the list.

Last, but not least, who is your idol, as an author?

Terry Pratchett is an amazing writer, I have read almost everything he has written! I also love J K Rowling’s work and her career as an author, such an inspiration. A few other names are Wilbur Smith, Bernard Cornwell, Brian Jacques and Darren Shan. I grew up reading them and would not be where I am today without them!

Something that Taran would like to share with his fans and young writers:

Read as much as you can. Reading is the ultimate education in writing. When you read a book you love, pay attention to the way the book transitions from scene to scene, how they deal with speech, how the story is structured. Learn how the story arc progresses, understand how the character was developed. All of these lessons will serve you well for when you begin to write your first novel!

A big thank you to TaranMatharu for taking part in this wonderful interview!
