KatherineArlene is a Wattpad ambassador, a romance author, and a very, very amazing person. While juggling her books, her career, her life, et cetera, she also manages to be a selfless help to newbie authors on Wattpad, who need a little help. She also is; as mentioned above, a Wattpad ambassador. She is so wonderful! Many interesting reads appear in her works, but something I have my eye on for when I am finished my story Forced Freefall and have more time, is The Boy In The Woods. Because I am not a romance person, I will probably not end up reading her books Stolen Hearts and Love You Forever. But anyway, I know a story that is a Watty finalist, and has 13000+ votes is definetly a good read for someone who enjoys the genre.
The interview:
What made you join Wattpad?
When my oldest daughter went to college, I had a lot more time on my hands and I started writing a story. I worked on it for six months and I thought it ended up being pretty good. I thought maybe other people might like to read it, but I didn’t feel comfortable letting anyone I know see it because it seemed like such a weird thing for me to have done. I mean I’d never written anything before. So I googled free reading and writing websites and Wattpad was the first one that came up.
Who do you thank most here on Wattpad, for helping you?
When I was a fairly new author and still trying to figure things out, there were some more established authors who answered my questions and provided me with very good examples for how to be an engaging and helpful member of the community. The most helpful and generous with her time was @Airambooksie.
And then there were a few more established authors who read my story and loved it so much they promoted it to their followers. When you’re a new author, that’s an incredibly kind and generous thing to do. Now that I’m one of the more established authors, I’ve done the same for other talented authors who are just starting out. One author who did that for me has since become a very good friend, @AuthorJayceeFord.
What is your favourite book on Wattpad (Other than your own)?
There are too many that are my favorites (sorry, I’m an American. LOL) but my reading list, ‘Finished Reading and Loved’ has them all.
What is your favourite of your own books?
I never thought I could pick a favorite because I do love all my stories, but the one I’m working on now, The Boy in the Woods, is one I’m extremely proud of. I think it’s my best writing and the story is turning out to be something special. Hopefully I can bring it all together by the end and make it as good as I see it in my head.
Do you have any ideas for a next novel? And, if so, can you give us a sneak peek?
I can only have one story in my head at a time, and I really have no clue what I’ll write after Boy. Hopefully I’ll come up with something. As I was finishing my first story, I wasn’t sure I was going to come up with anything, and yet I got a fabulous story idea, so maybe I’ll get lucky again.
Last, but not least, who is your idol, as an author?
J.K. Rowling is my biggest idol and also the biggest influence on my writing. I’m a huge Harry Potter fan and the mysteries that she wove through her story kept me rereading all the books while waiting for the next one to come out, trying to pick up clues and figure out what happened. That’s why my stories are full of mysteries.
Thanks KatherineArlene for taking part in this interview!!!
