How Can I Love My Enemy?

Chapter 12

I woke up in Nick's arms. He looks so innocent when he sleeps.

No, I have to be mad at him.

I got out of bed and walked into the kitchen. I decided to make myself some eggs and bacon. When i finished eating, I walked back into the living room and put on the movie Corpse Bride. The movie had just started when I felt someone's arms slither their way around my waist. I jumped when I felt sparks where his arms were.

Mm, he smells so good.

"You know, the tv is really loud. I could hear it all the way upstairs."

"Sorry, I didn't mean for it to be that loud." He learned over and kissed my check. "It's ok. I'm not mad at you, I needed to get up anyway. Instead, I should thank you."

We sat down and cuddled for the rest of the movie. When it finished, it was my turn to pick the movie. I say in front of the cabinet full of movies. Why do we have so many movies, I don't remember having all of these. I decided to watch Mean Girls. When I put it in the DVD player, I could hear Nick groan is disgust.

"Are we seriously watching this movie? Why can't we watch something cool like Cabin in the Woods?"

"Because I wanna watch Mean Girls and I don't like that movie, it's scary." I whispered the last part hoping that he didn't hear me and walked back to the couch. I was about to sit down, when Nick pulled me into his lap. He moved me closer to him and kissed me. I have him a confused look.

"Do you know what happens after you find your mate?" I shook my head, "I didn't make it that far in the books I was reading."

"You go into heat." He whispered into my ear, his breath tickled my ear and neck. I got a tingling feeling in my stomach when he said that. His smell intrigued me, it was so strong. He once again kissed me. "Do you know what happens when your in heat? You have a very good chance of getting marked."

He carried me bridle style up to our room. The whole way he kissed me, never once did he break it. He put me down on the bed, finally breaking the kiss, and walked over to close the door. He walked back over to me and kissed me passionately. His lips moved down to my neck and he continued to kiss. I moved my head to the side to give him more access. He looked up at me as if asking permission to continue. I nodded my head and he snuck his canines into my neck. It hurt for the first few minutes, but then it stopped. Before he pulled away, he kissed where he bit me.

"You're mine now." He growled before kissing me again. "I'm yours, and that makes you mine."

"Yes, that makes me yours." I leaned up and kissed him. We kept kissing until someone knocked on the door. Walking down stairs all I could smell was Nick. I ran down the rest of the stairs. When I reached the bottom, Nick pulled me close to his chest. I looked up at him, and I noticed for the first time that he had fear in his eyes. When he noticed I was watching him, he pushed me behind him.

I stood there, watching, as he walked toward the door. I was scared, all I could smell was Nick, so I couldn't smell who was at the door. Nick opened the door, and the next thing I knew, he was on the floor fighting a male rogue. I ran over to him and threw the rogue off of him and into the other room. He got up and went after him.

"Alex go run and hide!" He yelled at me. I obeyed, and ran upstairs. All I could hear was a fight between wolves. I mindlinked Ben and Jerry to tell them what was going on and also to tell them to tell Alpha. I didn't know I was crying until I heard Ben telling me it was all going to be ok. The fight was still going on so I figured that more rogues showed up.Ben was running his hand up and down my back to try to comfort me.

Suddenly, the door was flung open. Nick walked in and I ran over to him. He held me as I cried into his chest.

"Shh, it's ok, its all over now." He soothingly said to me. Ben left once Nick entered the room. I held him close to me. I felt like if I didn't, I would never see him again and he would disappear. I hugged him tighter and I saw him wince in pain. For the first time, I looked at him. He had small cuts and bruises all over his body. His stomach had huge claw marks and he had teeth marks up and down his arms and legs.

I took him downstairs and gave him to one of the doctors. As soon as I let go of him, he collapsed. Several doctors put him on a stretcher and wheeled away. I went to follow him, but was unable to because Rick had grabbed me. I struggled trying to break free of his grasp, screaming and kicking. All of my attempts failed, and I ended up crying my eyes out. Rick carried me back to the pack house and put me in my old room.

I sat there crying for three hours, while Nick was in surgery. No one came in, I was glad. I didn't want to see anyone but Nick, all I wanted was to be in his arms again. After another hour, I fell asleep. I woke up screaming at the nightmare I just had. Katie and Riley were trying to comfort me, they seemed startled at my sudden outburst. Once again, I started to cry, hoping that Nick was ok and I could see him again.The door suddenly opened, reveling one of the doctors that took Nick away.

"Alex, Nick is out of surgery now. We have him on some drugs that will make him sleep so he doesn't feel any pain right now. You may come see him now." I got off of my bed and followed him to where Nick was.

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, my phone broke and i had to get a new one. Then my new phone didn't want to work so my mom had to call the company to fix my phone. And to top it off, spring hockey started and my dad is my coach. I will test to update as quickly as I can because I have this week off due to spring break. Luv ya <3.
