Chapter 10

The next few days were pretty rough. Because I didn't call or tell Mikuni or Uncle Doubt Doubt where I was, they grounded me. That means, I can't leave the house and if I ever did leave the house, Uncle Doubt Doubt would know about it.

Apparently, he can sense when I've left the house. I was locked away in my room right now, brushing out my doll's hair. "You're so pretty, Violeta. You're hair is so beautiful. Too bad Mikuni won't let me brush Abel's hair. He won't even let me touch her." I said.

I looked towards my door when I heard a sound. That's strange. I thought I was home alone? I got off my bed and went over to the door with Violetta in my hand. I opened the door, peeking out my head while looking left to right.

"Hello?" I called. I didn't hear a reply. Well, since I'm out here, I guess I could brush out another doll's hair. "Let's go, Violeta." I said as I gripped her doll body in my hand. I went downstairs and set Violetta on the table.

"Let's see. Which doll should I go for?" I wondered as I looked through the set of dolls. I picked a doll with red hair in which I named her Annie. "Okay, Violeta. Let's go back up." I said, turning around to grab her. But she wasn't there.

"Violeta?" I called, looking around. "That's strange. Where did she go?" I mumbled. I decided to look for her later and went to my room. I got started on her hair as I began to brush out the mats and tangles.

After fifteen minutes of brushing out the mats and tangles, I was finally done until I heard a ruckus come from downstairs. "Who's here?" I wondered. I blinked when I thought I heard Mahiru's voice.

Deciding to investigate, I set Annie on my bed and left my room, going down the stairs. As I was approaching the bottom floor, I saw Mahiru, Mikuni, Uncle Doubt Doubt, and Johannes.

"Welcome back, Miku-Miku!"

"I thought I told you not to come here without asking! And where exactly did my dear Violeta's head go, huh?!"

"You took Violetta?!" I screamed in anger. "Oh, hello, EIko!" Johannes greeted. I ran over to Mikuni and grabbed Violetta out of his hands. But there was only one problem... Her head was missing!!!

"What have you done to her, Johannes?!" I yelled at him. "It's your own brother's fault for leaving her on the table like that." He said. "I set her on the table! I put her there so I could look for a new doll!" I snapped.

"Hold on! You're Misono's big brother?! That can't be right!" I heard Mahiru said. "Who's Misono?" I asked. "Huh? Eiko? What are you doing here?" He asked. "What are you talking about? This is my house. I live here." I stated, emotionlessly.

"What?! You live here?!" He asked. "Eiko just loves the dolls here so much, I allowed her to live here with them." Mikuni explained. "Hold on, why didn't you tell me you were Misono's sister?" Mahiru asked. "I have no idea who that is." I said, bluntly.

"Uh, about that..." Mikuni said, making Mahiru and I look at him. "My little brother doesn't know I adopted Eiko." He said. "So, I have another big brother?" I asked. "Sorry for not telling you sooner, Little Eiko." Mikuni apologized.

"It's okay, Mikuni. I'm not mad at you. But I would appreciate it if you stopped calling me by that nickname." I said before hugging him. "You're too forgiving." Uncle Doubt Doubt said. I ignored his commented and turned my attention to Mahiru.

"So, why are you here?" I asked. "I want to fix Kuro." He said. "Fix him? What do you mean?" I asked, in which he took out a solid black ball. "You came here to show me a solid black ball?" I asked. "This is actually Kuro. I'm trying to find a way to get him back to normal." Mahiru explained.

"A problem in need of examination! Cheers to the unexpected!" Johannes said as he banged a class of tea against the black ball Uncle Ash was trapped in. "You're so weird, Johan." I commented.

"Oh, if only we could freeze in this moment. It's so beautiful, I think that I might cry." He said. "Now, you're just being overdramatic." I stated, bluntly. "Thank you for bringing this audity! Now, into my laboratory!" Johannes yelled as he grabbed Mahiru's head and tossed him through the revolving mirror.   

"Eiko, stay here until we get back." Mikuni said. "Okay." I replied, giving a nod. Johannes and Mikuni followed Mahiru inside as I stayed where I was. "I guess I could brush a doll's head to pass the time." I said to myself.

I went back up to my room and sat on my bed as I proceeded to brush Annie's hair. "Yoo-hoo~! Eiko~." I looked over to my window, spotting Tsubaki there.

"What are you doing here, Tsubaki. If my brother catches you, we'll both be in big trouble." I said to him as I got off the bed. "Come on. I'm kidnapping you." He said. "Pardon?" I asked with an emotionless gaze.

"Just kidding. I'm not kidnapping you. But I do want to take you somewhere. Think of it like our second date." He said, smiling, as he held out his hand to me. I blushed when he referred to as a "second date".

"Where are we going?" I asked, taking his hand. "You'll see." Tsubaki said. He picked me up bridal style before flying off. "I think I should've told my brother I was leaving." I said to Tsubaki. "Don't worry, we won't be long." Tsubaki assured me.

I trusted him, so of course I trust his words.
