Mahiru's POV
"Come on, Mahiru! You have to order your Servamp to kill me now! It's what I wanted. It's the reason I lied to you and brought you here!" Sakuya called as he reached out to me. Suddenly, Kuro was shot from behind, making the darkness descend.
"Kuro..." I said as he got shot. "Go on, Jeje. Get on with it."
Someone leaped from the sky and pounced on Kuro, shooting him several times in the back. Once Kuro was a cat, the tall man went to shoot Sakuya until he was pulled away. "Sakuya! So, you don't really wanna kill me?" I asked him.
"It was a trick." Sakuya said, tossing me my wristband. I caught it with one hand as a white light blinded my vision momentarily. When it faded, Sakuya was gone. "Where'd he go?" I murmured. A car crashed through the fence, skidding to a stop in front of us.
"What the crap?!" I yelled.
After Misono was taken to a hospital, the people who stopped Kuro stepped forward.
"Nice to meet you, young man. Beside me is the Servamp of Envy. His name's Doubt Doubt. You might have guessed, I'm his Eve. Just a simple antique dealer, traveling across the world. And the little girl standing next to me is my little sister, Eiko." The man introduced.
"Eiko?!" I said. "Hi, Mahiru." She greeted. She stared at me with an emotionless gaze while waving at me. "Won't you please hold me, Mahiru?" Eiko's brother said in a girly voice. "Uh... Wait, how do you know my name?" I asked.
"Huh? No, don't be afraid, Abel. It's all right. This young man is not our enemy. You're safe." He said to his doll. "Huh? You think children nowadays are too violent? Hahaha! Don't worry so much, Abel, my darling."
'Why is everyone I meet a weirdo?' I thought. "What's with that look?!" He suddenly said. "Huh?" I asked. "Don't stare at her with such lust in your eyes! Pervert! She's just a doll!" He said. "What are you talking about?!" I replied.
"Whoa!" Our conversation was interrupted when a bullet went through his hat. "Enough talk. TIme for you to keep your promise." Doubt Doubt said. "Eh? And what was that?" His Eve asked. "You promised that if I followed your orders, you'd let me drink your blood." He reminded him.
"Huh? Sorry, I can't hear you~." He sang. Doubt Doubt got angry and started shooting at him. "Jeje, stop! You're being mean!" His Eve laughed.
"Yeah, those two are one of a kind. That's a problem." Eiko said with a sigh. She picked up Kuro and handed him to me. "I'm sorry Jeje had to take him down so brutally." She apologized. I didn't reply as I gazed down at Kuro, sadly.
"Hey, Big Brother. Since we're done here, I'm gonna go home." Eiko informed. "Huh? Already? But we haven't even been here that long." Her brother said. "Yeah, but I'm a bit hungry, so I'm gonna get something to eat." She said before leaping towards a building.
"Whoa! How is she able to jump that far?!" I asked. "Oh? Eiko hasn't told you yet?" Her brother asked. "Told me what?" I asked. "Oh... I see, then. Well, I guess she'll tell you someday. Let's go home, Jeje." He ordered his Servamp.
"Wait! Just who are you? What were you even doing here?" I asked. "I thought I told you. I'm just a traveling antique dealer. Isn't that right, Abel?" He chuckled before walking away. The next day, I lied on the couch, feeling bad for what happened to Kuro. "Hello again, Mahiru." I quickly sat up and gasped when I saw Eiko sitting on the other couch. "Wow, you don't look so well. That might be a problem." She said. "How'd you get in here?" I asked, a little freaked out. "Your window was open." She answered, emotionlessly. "Mahiru, we need to talk."
