Weeks went by and Harry was no where to be seen. I questioned why he would dissapear. After days of thinking, I finally convinced myself that he wasn't coming back.
There were no crowds of girls around. It's just how it used to be. I fought with myself and thought that maybe he left because of me. But it can't be true. Right?
I made myself believe that he was just a guy and I wasn't going to worry about it anymore.
Days dragged on and bills piled up. Dad tried to convince me to move in with him but I declined.

I make my way downtown to Magnolia's. I need to ask Marge for a raise. I am in desperate need of money and pretty soon I'm going to be evicted.
I unlock the doors and push through them. I walk through the dim room to Marge's office. Magnolia's isn't open today but I knew that Marge would be here. I knock lightly on her door. "Come in!" Her voice rings. My hand twists the door handle and I swing it open, revealing Marge at her computer. She smiles once she sees me. "What's up?"
I sigh and sit down at the chair in front of her desk. Bluntly, I say, "I need a raise."
She turns her attention from her computer to me. "A raise?" She repeats, pursing her lips. I nod slightly.
"I feel stupid for asking but I-"
She cuts me off, "Okay."
"I understand, I'm sorry- wait. What?" I pause. She smiles and clicks her pen.
"Okay." She repeats. I look at her in confusion.
"I-I can get a raise?" I stutter in pure excitement. She nods gently.
"Em, you've worked her for how long?" She asks.
"Four years." I reply quietly with a small smile. And I've been struggling for four years.
"You deserve a raise." She admits. "How would you like to be manager?"
"Manag- uh. Yeah, wow. That sounds great," my words stumble over eachother as I try and figure out what to say. "Wait. Who's going to wait tables during my hours?"
"We actually had an application put in yesterday," she says, digging through her desk. She pulls out a paper and hands it to me. I take it gently in my hands.
Printed name: Sage Presley
I scan the paper and place it onto her desk. She pulls it back and shoves it in her desk. "What do you think?"
"I get to make the decision?" I ask in confusion. Marge's smile causes those crinkle to appear by her eyes.
"You are manager, afterall." She declares.
"Oh."
"Do you think we should hire her?" Marge questions, picking up her phone.
I decide to not tell her that Sage is my best friend. Isn't there a rule about being biased or whatever? I don't know. "Her application was great. Neat handwriting. Everything was explained well." I say with a smile.
Marge calls Sage up and tells her that she got the job and that she literally starts tomorrow.
Marge and I talked business and I said my farewells to her.
The day was slow as usual. My dad had sent me a check in the mail to help for the bills but it surely wasn't enough. I need to start looking at some apartments.

Filler chapter. I know, I know. It sucks. Deal with it.
