"Those who don't believe in magic will never find it."
- Roald Dahl
It was at that moment that the door crashed open, A panting boy pursuing the two. His features furrow together as his lip curls into an angry expression.
"What are you doing in my sister's room? Get out." He sputtered, nearing Peter, fists clenched.
The girl's expression became tainted, eyebrows knitting together. As her brother approached him, Peter retrieved his sword, the tip bracing the boys chest. He lightly pushed him forward, pursing his lips.
"Ah. I like the fiesty ones!" Peter said, his pearly whites baring for the two to see.
The girl nestled herself in between the two, butting her brother away from Peter.
"Stop this nonsense!" She lashed out, biting at her bottom lip.
Eyes flickering to the ground briefly, they shot back up quickly, a spark clasping her pupils. She swallowed, hands moving to toy with her gown.
"If you're really Peter Pan. The one from the stories, Prove it." She hissed, head tilting to look over him, as if he was smaller.
She could feel her brother's rapid heartbeat against her back, and his confused and humorous expression.
"Peter Pan? Sister I warned you to stay away from the stoners..." Her brother Jared muttered against her, his fists still clenched tight.
Peter eyed her right back, lips curled into a half smile.
"Certainly, my lady." he cooed, face tilting to the ceiling, as his chest huffed and puffed in an inhuman motion, as his feet began to itch and leave the ground, Hands moving to place on his hips, His eyes ablaze.
Her eyes widened at the sight of the boy lifting to flight, her brothers heartbeat against her slowing, but she could feel his eyes against her in disbelief.
She opened her mouth, words not daring to leave. Was what she saw really real? Peter was now a foot in the air, a smug smile gleaming down at the two of them.
"Holy shit." The girl and her brother both voiced in unison, eyes glass.
Nearing Peter, she raised an eyebrow, a smile meeting her face. She was easy to convince actually, there was always a part of her that knew fairy tales were real.
"I'm Jane. Jane Fairchild."
