"Go to the edge of the cliff and jump off. Build your wings on the way down."
--Ray Bradbury
Jane blushed as Peter reached for her hand, his fingertips bracing hers, grabbing her wrist as he descends higher and higher into the room.
Jared, Her brother on the other hand, did not like this one bit. A stranger claiming to be a fairy tale character comes to try and woo his little sister? As much as the odds were in his favor, it kept him troubled.
He certainly didn't look like the Peter from the stories.
As Peter tried to grab her, her brother pulled back, pulling so hard on her dress, the seams on her gown ripped lightly.
But as she was pulled from the ground, she looked to her brother, hope and brightness painted on her features.
She'd never had a well life in England, their father was always absent and their mother was always working. She just wanted adventure, to be taken from this dull confinement in which she was forced in.
But as she was turned to her brother, Peter leaned towards her, breath lingering down her neck, as she felt his lashes blink against her hair.
"Come away with me. You can escape this land and meet my lost boys, fly, swim with the mermaids, whatever you please. In Neverland, there's nothing to worry about." Peter whispered, as her feet slowly lifted from her floor, as she slightly struggled to balance herself.
"Jane, No! Mother and father! You can't leave us." Jared cried, his grip on her growing tighter, but completely harmless. She could read the fear, the sorrow in his eyes.
Swallowing, she turned to Peter, shaking her head.
"I can't leave my brother." she muttered, the words catching in her throat.
But instead of a savage reply, Peter replied with a smirk, his other hand moving to his pocket, as he pulled out a little sack. Eyeing it, he pulled open the knot, gold dust spilling from the sides, as he flung it to the boy, particles of dust capturing him.
"Come with us than!" He hissed, dropping the now empty sack to the ground, holding out his open arm to the boy.
"I could use another lost boy."
