"I just let the pain take over, allowing it to numb the pain of being left behind."

― Jessica Sorensen

In a hammock tailored inside a towering great Oak, rest the lost boy's king, face upturned to the ceiling of his nest, not so far from Jane's.

He contemplated, calculated, consuming a whirlwind of strange thoughts, pondering the possibilities and there outcomes, trying to find meaning behind a kiss, a mistake.

He showed weakness for a moment there. But- isn't that what he must do? Show affection, to steal away a lover's heart? But love- yes love, if grown between the two, would be one-sided. She would tend too it.

But how foolish to think of love! That was adult foolery! He had only felt it once, and it was truly the downfall of him. He mustn't ever love again!

But alas, he must play the part of the lover. Because of course, that was the whole reason he brought her here in the first place! Too steal her heart! (Literally.)

He would show Tiger Lily, and his unfaithful lost boys, that he would rule Neverland, for eternity.

He was suddenly feeling empowered, giddy with glee! No- not glee. Glory! A god-like glory!

He may have fallen confused for a moment in time, but time in Neverland was nonexistent! Fleeing to nothingness! So in actuality, he had wasted none! Nope! None!

"So get back on track, you glorious king, so soon you'll no longer mourn on-waiting death!" The voice at the back of his head cheered.

He could imagine the voice, personified. A shadow almost. One that reflected himself. But a tad darker. The shadow was impulsive, morbid, un-defeated.

And when you imagine in Neverland, your imaginations become real.
