Chapter Twelve:

Walking Dead

"Ma fifille, did you truly believe I would die so quickly?" Louis asked as his hair grew back and stood up before bowing at me. I stood over Erasmus as I held out my dagger. He took a step forward as the snow crunched beneath the weight with blood staining the snow a pretty crimson that reminded me of red roses. I stood my ground though my instincts screamed for me to run. Definitely not just a vampire, but what the hell was he? Vampires are allergic to fire. Okay, maybe not the right way to word it, but it's the only way I described it.

"Don't go near her!" Erasmus cried out as I saw his blood staining the snow. He choked back a groan of pain as I gritted my teeth. That's it, this freak is dead. DEAD!

"What the hell are you?"

His response to my question was to start insanely laughing. Great, that can't be good.

"Call me an improvement if you must call me something," Louis told me as he waved his hand like it wasn't a big deal. He looked around me to see Erasmus on his back. "Do you believe you can protect him?"

"You bet, jackass," I said as Erasmus tried to say something and Daisy let out a whimper.

He smirked and took another step toward me as his lip fixed itself like how an artist fixed his statue by mending the clay. "He was right, you really don't know when to give up." I gasped and for a split second, I felt the emotion touch my face. "Stubborn as an ass yet fragile as a flower."

"I don't know who you're talking about, but he clearly didn't know me!" I shouted. "I am NOT fragile."

"He told me a lot about you, petite prince."

I gritted my teeth as I thought about how the charms hung around my neck. "Stop calling me that!"

"Isn't that what he used to call you? His little prince-"

"Matty no!" Daisy screamed as I ran over and jabbed him in the gut and watched for a moment before his innards spilled out into the snow. Blood covered my hands and my mind went back to the night that John tried to...tried to...tried too...

Louis laughed and simply picked them up before putting them into his chest cavity and the wound healed. I felt like ripping my hair before turning around, but before I could move, he ran and caught me by the neck and held me up in the air.

He laughed as I saw a flicker of fire in the background. "Make one move and I'll snap her neck." He told Unicorn boy. He squeezed my neck, but I tightened my grip on the dagger. He slammed my back into a tree as I groaned and dropped the dagger into the snow before wrapping my fingers around his wrist. "I wonder if you taste as good as you look. He said you tasted absolutely delicious."

My eyes widened for a moment as my body felt cold.

Drake.

Why would...

"He told me how you hate to be alone," he whispered in my ear, "and that you're so desperate to protect your loved ones, but that wasn't hard to figure out, prince." I let go of his wrist as I thought about the pocket knife in my back pocket. "You really are almost beautiful. If it weren't for the scars I think I would've devoured your blood awhile ago." Slowly, my hand went toward the pocket knife as I tried to ignored him. Why would Drake do this to me? "You smell delicious still so I think it'd be a waste. I don't see why the faeries make such a fuss out of you, but then again, faeries are so...so..."

"Strange?" I asked as my fingers curled around the pocket knife. I stabbed the knife into his arm, so he dropped me and I crawled between his legs to escape before he went away in a blur.
