"Go fish."
I stare from behind the cards in my face at the three others at the table. Perhaps today had been the most intense of all the games we've played. I watch as Hyuna looks to Hoseok before reaching forward for another card. Sure it wasn't the ideal way to spend a Saturday but it was just the start of the night.
"Alright!" Hoseok stretches out his arm before smacking the cards from my hands. "It's time. Start drinking."
Tonight would be the first I will be reintroduced to the wonders of acohol and partying. I am not one to like interactions with other I don't know yet Hoseok thinks it for the best so of course I agree. To him I could not deny anything which was something I have come to learn through memories I have regained. In all them he gets what he wants whether it something simple to something like winning a heated argument.
"I don't see why we have to go to a club." Hyuna huffs as she reached for a red cup which Hoseok pour a liquid into. "It's not for old people like us."
"I'm not old." I scoff. "I'm only twenty-five-"
"Ha!"
The loud screeching voice of my female friend causes both of us to hold our ears in mercy. She throws he her head back and giggles like she's some teenager. I look to Hoseok who too tries to contain his laughter.
"Am I not?" I ask him. He shakes his head.
"Baby you're turned twenty nine last month, don't you remember?"
Oh yes, I had forgotten about all the day I spent upset for the most part. I had found out last month that I had been lied to at the reunion with my doctor and friend. Apparently Hyuna thought it would have been hilarious to lie my age to me when I woke and then use it to joke on on my birthday. I was not very happy to say the least.
"Clubs are for young people, people looking for one night stands, or you know, single desperate people." She huffs being taking another sip from her cup.
"So you mean like yourself?"
At my remark Hoseok breaks out laughing while Hyuna screams out for him to stop. He applauds me for my great comeback. I stare at the wide smile on his face as he slaps the table for effect.
"Anyway, when we were twenty five was when life was good. You know, vacations and drinks without having to pee every half hour-"
"Yuna that's just you." Hoseok interrupts her. She glares his way which ends in him putting his hands up in defense.
"As I was saying." She sighs. "It was right before life went to shit and you idiots-"
"Drink?" I look down to the cup held in front of me. Hoseok urges me to drink it, then so does Hyuna. A drop of acohol has yet to touch my lips since I woke and frankly I was very excited to reunite with it. I had been putting it off in fear of what stupid thing I might do but with my friends at my side I was sure they'd stop me or join me so either way it would be fine. I take the cup from Hoseok hand and gulp it down.
"There you go! Still a champ at chugging!" Hoseok claps.
Hyuna sighs. "That poor liver, just when it thought the end had came."
We laugh at her joke. I am aware that back in the day I was quite the drinker and smoker, ever since medical school which is ironic. From what I remember, it was hard. Half the time I was found passed out in front of a textbook, a beer can in hand. Hoseok says we would smoke every once in a while but drinking was something common for me. Perhaps that was part of the reasons I have been scared to reunite with the old friend.
"So I heard Namjoon's coming back soon." Hoseok speaks up, his face covered by his phone. Namjoon is Jin's husband. I had heard a lot from him and even seen pictures. He and I were quite close from what I have been told and it appeared so in all the photos we have together. However despite my request to speak to him, he's declined me. He claims to want our reunion to be personally so that he be sure it was not a lie. I accepted his request and so I've waited but not for long anymore.
"Wow look Yoonie, your fake hubby is coming back. Aren't you excited?"
I look to Hoseok confused. "Why?"
Hyuna screeches again in laughter. I am getting quite tired of having to cover my ears or flinching so much my body jerks in the process. We glare at her and she stops it.
"You guys pretended to be a couple getting engaged and well you got free cake." Hoseok rolls his eyes. "Joon was practicing on you for when he was going to propose to Jin and well people bought it."
Hoseok goes onto to tell the story in full detail which with the help of our drinks, leaves us giggling on the ground. Hyuna was completely drunk by the time midnight struck and her ride arrived to take her home. Her friend apologized for her behavior which consisted of more loud screeching and slurred phrases she giggled at. I on the other hand am feeling just marvelous.
I feel nice and soft, like a kitten wrapped in a fuzzy blank that is being wrapped by another blanket. I can still walk straight, enough that I catwalk my way to Hoseok on our sofa. He claps at my effort at a twirl which just ends up with me on him. He adjust me so that I lay my heavy head on his chest and my limbs are spread out on the cushions.
"I had fun." I tell him as I make myself more comfortable next to him. "You're so much fun."
He chuckles and runs his hands through my hair, well what Hyuna didn't put up. Currently my hair is swaying in the air since the front of it has a hair tie that kept it so.
"I had a fun time Yoongs, I've missed this. We use to do it just the two of us before and it ended in-"
"Sex?" I ask hopefully.
Hoseok tilts his head and laughs softly at my suggestion. Yes I admitt that completely relaxed wasn't the only thing I am feeling. I haven't had any intercourse since I woke either, I am hoping today will be the day I will again. Sure it could be the booze speaking but I really don't care.
"Come on." I pat his chest in hopes it enough to get something going. It was for he leans in and so a make up session commences. Again I readjust myself, now keeping my body on his. The kiss last for a while but when I try to move it further along, Hoseok stops me.
"Baby wait." He mutters and keeps me back. "You're drunk."
Stating the obvious, silly boy.
"Maybe we should wait until you're not, you know so you don't regret it and your timer is almost up."
I quirk an eyebrow. Don't regret it? Timer? Silly boy Hoseokie is, of course not. I shake my head and try to dive back into his space but his hand causes me to have a detour.
"Hobi!" I whine, my scream is muffled by his neck. He chuckles, his hand runs through my hair as his other hand rubs circles on my back.
"Please." I beg him."I really want to."
"Even if we wanted to, we can't."
"Why's that?"
"Your timer is up."
I don't understand him but I can't question him, he doesn't let me. Every time my head goes up or even tries to, he keeps it down. My begging eventually turns in mumbles of none sense and the feeling of relaxation starts to fall even heavier. Next thing I know my eyes close and I fall into a deep sleep.
