A week goes by then two and three until I hear back from the man who claims he's got what I look for. He's phone call comes at a late hour of the night as I dine with friends over a the happy occasion of a raise in pay.
"I want to see you now."
I tell him I can't, that I'm too busy even if my curiosity is consuming me to know what news he might have for me. He sighs loudly into the phone then a tone that is less cocky he asks nicely for me to meet him, saying that what he had to offer me was more note-worthy than a dinner with people I might see every other day. I wanted to tell him that it's not but he knows I won't miss up the opportunity so his manipulation works. My fingers press a button calling me a taxi and my feet take me back to my table where my mouth makes up an excuse.
"Jooheon needs some help. He tried to fix some plumbing at his house and uh... he's no plumber so I'm going to help-"
"You knowing nothing of plumbing yourself." Hyuna says.
"Well I'm sure I know more than him." I say as I make my way to the door.
With one cheek full and a glass of wine in hand she says, "Have fun."
I assure her I will with a forced smile and I continue to excuse myself. Jin offers to come along, in case medical help is needed which I obviously deny. I bid Namjoon a farewell and congratulate him one last time on his promotion then walk to the exit with Hoseok at my side. He adjust the collar of my jacket as we wait for the cab to arrive.
"How did he even get himself stuck?" Hoseok asks, trying to contain his laugh all the while trying to seem worried for the man.
I shrug. "He'd manage."
The driver arrives and I say my goodbyes. I promise my parnter to be home by nightfall if possible. He's kisses my cheek and let the cab take me where he believe is to my friends not a stranger whose come into my life abruptly. Tingles of guilt consume me as I am taken away, it's a shame I have to lie to do this. Hoseok would not let me go if I was to say I was meeting a man who I know almost nothing of or recall barely anything about. It's upsetting to think this is the way things are.
I am left at the address sent to my by Jungkook which appears to be a hotel of high class. I enter the lobby to find myself in a mist of business men in suits and women in beautiful dress, some were casual while others appeared as if they'd be attending a gala. What ever the reason, I don't care too much.
I get to a door on the fifteenth floor where I greeted with a shirtless man and bright smile.
"I didn't think you'd be here so fast." Jungkook says as he moves aside for me to walk in. "Make yourself comfortable, I'll go get dress."
He disappears into a door in the short hallway while I walk into the single bed room and sit on the only chair in sight. It's comfortable which was expected from such high class room. The bed was made in a silky bedspread that looked untouched. Besides the table was a night stand that displayed the time to be only three in the afternoon. The air smelled sweet, it was clear that it had been recently that the room had been cleaned.
Jungkook comes out after a few minutes in a black shirt that hug his top not too tightly nor loosely, just right and a pair of ripped jeans.
"I had a meeting this morning, it feels nice to be out of a suit."
I nod, by the crumpled clothes I could tell he had been desperate to be out of it.
"Where do you work at that requries you a suit Jungkook?"
The man runs his hand through his wet brown locks as he bends over to pick up a bag which he sets on the men. "Marketing. It's not the most fun but it pays the bills and I've got what it takes."
The lesiure talking end when I ask what was so important he had to say to me that he demanded I come while I was busy. He smiles and throws over a book, a picture book. He claims to have phone it while cleaning out his closet at home before coming to see me.
"Don't get it twisted though, it's not exactly what I just called you for."
I tilt my head. "Then what is?"
"Well I'm afraid if I tell you now you might run and I wouldn't want that. It's besides the point now, just take a look at some of the things in there. You are welcome to take any you like or all for that matter. However there are a few in there I will be wanting to keep but I have no problem in getting you a copy."
I thank him and move to the bed when he ask we go through it together so that he could explain the story behind each. Unsure of what to expect I open the book, a picture of Jimin is the first I see. Jungkook says nothing of it and flips the page until there is one of me sitting on a lawn chair staring out into the sunset. He says I was being dramatic so he had no choice but to snap a picture. Most of the photographs he shows are of mostly me, some with Jimin, and him until he gets to one picture that stops the flow of the rejoicing.
It's just me and him.
I'm not sure where it is but I can tell on what, a bed. My black hair falls on my closed eyes, I was asleep but he wasn't. Jungkook's sleepy eye looked right into the camera as his lips made contact with my skin as they do in the upcoming seconds. Confused I turn to look at him, a bit scared to know what I knew he'd be discussing next.
"I told you, you might run."
He was right, I do want to run.
