It has been a week since keisha died and everything has been fucked up for me. I took off two weeks of work because I need to be there for the family right now. The twins haven't been to school this week and the principal totally understand. Today was Saturday and it was the day of keisha's funeral. I have been a wreck this morning and im trying to be strong for the twins.
"Ken where are my shoes". I asked while pacing the floor.
"They downstairs by the door". He said coming out of the bathroom while buttoning his black collar shirt.
I walked in the twins room and seen they was fully dressed thanks to ken. Since I did their hair last night it was looking decent.
"How are you girls holding in". I asked while sitting next to them on the bed.
"I feel empty right now god mommy". Arielle cried.
I looked over at Brielle and seen she was rolling her eyes and focusing on the Disney channel show that was on.
"Brielle are you ready baby". I asked looking at her.
She shrugged her shoulders and walked downstairs with Arielle following behind her. I sigh and walked back to kentrell room and seen him holding Maila in his arms and he was fully dressed and ready to leave.
"You ready baby". He asked looking at me.
I nodded my head and walked out the room downstairs and seen Arielle and Brielle standing by the door.
About half a hour later we was pulling up at the church and it wasn't really pack due to us being a little bit earlier but it was time for the wakening.
I grabbed the girls hands and led them inside the church. We walked a long way up the aisle up to keisha casket. I looked as she laid in the casket with a faint smile on her face.
"Mommy im going to miss you and Im sorry for all the trouble I have gave you in the past please forgive me and I really love you mommy, I never thought this day would come and I really wish you could stay for a longer time and tell me everything will be alright. Im going to be a good person to god mommy and a great big sister to maila and Brielle ". Arielle looked at her momma one last time before walking over to kentrell.
I looked over at Brielle and seen she had a look that I knew all to well.....
"MAMA PLEASE COME BACK I CANT BE STRONG ANYMORE I TRY BUT I CANT I NEED YOU MOMMY I NEED YOU IN MY LIFE. IM EMPTY WITHOUT YOU. PLEASE DON'T GO MOMMY. PLEASEEEEEEEEE". Brielle screamed.
I grabbed Brielle into a big bear hug and let the tears come down from my eyes and she reluctantly hug me back and sobbed in my arms.
Few hours later everyone was here and we was sitting on the front bench since we are her family. The service was good and everything the kids hold their tears in but when it was time for the burial the girls broke down, I broke down, my family and keisha's family broke down and Maila was even being a little fussy its like she knew her mom was gone.
After the funeral and the burial we went to keisha's mom house to have dinner. She made some good food and I was eating it like there was no tomorrow.
"Slow down your food ain't going no where". Kentrell said with a smirk.
I rolled my eyes and kept eating but I kept it professional and slowed down.

"May I have everyone's Attention please". I looked up and Keisha's mama standing up.
"I just want to thank Everybody for coming to the funeral to lay my baby girl at rest, keisha wouldn't want us to be sad over her death because we all know she's in a better place. So I want Kaila to sing Keisha's favorite song that makes her happy".
My eyes widened as she looked over at me with a wide smile as she held the microphone my way.
I looked over at my dad and brothers and for the first time they was die laughing.
"Damn". I mumbled before getting up. "Dont touch my food kentrell". I said sternly.
He smacked his teeth and motioned me to leave. I walked all the way to the front and grabbed the microphone from Mrs. Summers.
"Hello everyone my name is Kaila Westbrook and im Keisha's god sister and her daughters god mother. When me and Keisha was young we had a song called" at your best " by Aaliyah that we use to always sing and im going to sing it for y'all. And please don't laugh at me because I haven't sung in years.
"Girl stop lying". Kentrell yelled causing everyone in the room to laugh.
"Any who im finna sing Aaliyah "at your best."
I did a deep breath and let the words come out....

I looked up and seen most people was wiping away their tears and was smiling, I looked at the twins and they was smiling with tears down their eyes. I looked over at keisha's family and siblings and blew them a kiss before walking back to my seat. Of course everyone clap and cheered.
