Ok, first off, neither is better than the other. Kinda.
It really depends on what style you like, if you like watching an animation or you like reading graphic novels.
It also depends on how much time you have, (I think I just killed a bug mid-flight, wtf) reading a manga would normally be faster than watching an anime since the anime had a set time for each episode while the manga depends on how fast you understand the information given to you.
There's no reason why you should hate on someone if they like manga better than anime or anime better than manga. Ok, well there are some exceptions, some anime are obviously better than their manga and some manga are obviously better than the anime. (Not gonna say which ones because 1) it's gonna start a war, 2) I only have one example)
