After nick had lied, and told the police he remembered driving Miriam back to his place- where he subsequently woke up to her absence. (The latter being the only truth.)

The police had been quick to label Miriam as a run away, yet no one had seen a girl with pale skin and blonde hair and chapped lips that stretched in to an angled smile.

None of her belongings were missing. Her phone and any money had been left behind.

It was like she had simply woken up and slipped out in to the abyss of the night. Her feet leaving slight patterns in the condensation in the grass, before they evaporated once the dawn had cast its spell.

Everyone was distraught and paralysed with fear and worry.

None more so than nick.

He could recount nothing but pulling Miriam up from the pool in the party. He could remember the feeling of her palm in his but whether that was from last night or last month he wasn't sure.

He was meandering through a dense fog and whenever he reached out, he was reminded of the hollow mould of Miriam that should of been here but wasn't.

The senses of wind whipping in his face and vibrations beneath his feet were on constant replay, as he agonisingly analysed the moment for any hints.

Miriam had somehow been freed from his clutches and he wanted to harm whoever was at fault.
