im officially missing you

🌃🌈🌌

Koeun continued with her life, college was a huge pain to her since she worked at night to pay for her necessities and studies in the morning. She barely got sleep and she swears she's hallucinating sometimes at biology.

But it was all worth it. Koeun knew there was something beautiful after this hardship, after all, there's a rainbow after the rain.

She sighs for the hundredth time today as the professor discusses on plants. Staring off into different corners of the room, she sees Jaemin— her bestfriend's boyfriend — eating cup ramen secretly under his desk. He notices her looking, so he sends his index finger to his lips to tell her to keep quiet.

It's amazing that after all that happened, her friends never questioned her about it. And she was glad they didn't, she'd have a mental and emotional break down if they ever did.

Speaking of the past incident, her thoughts drift into someone. Someone who has hair like ramen, someone who's tough on the outside and soft on the inside, someone who loosened the tie on her wrist, someone who means so much to her, someone she loved, still and will love. And that someone's name was Mark Lee.

Koeun stares at her notes, her eyes are now blurry after reminiscing the days she's been with him. She wonders where the hell is he now? Or is he doing fine in the prison? Or is he even alive?

She doesn't know.

And that's what bothers her the most. She couldn't visit him because his father thought Mr. Lee would still beat their assess off if he sees them. But she heard from the news last month that Mr. Lee was sentenced to death, so she had no worries. However, his father still insisted on her not to visit.

It breaks her heart thinking that her other half is there, inside the cold and dark place called prison. Also, her so called son, Donghyuck is there too, since they aren't minors anymore.

The bell rings loudly breaking Koeun from her train of thoughts. "So how's first period?" Hina pops out of nowhere and links her arms with Koeun's. Koeun could only shrug as answer, "I saw your boyfriend eating ramen" she says. Hina chuckles, "He does that everytime, i'm surprised you only saw that now" the girl says.

Koeun smiles a little at her friend.

For the past 5 years after it, Koeun felt happy. Yes, she was happy, until one night at two in the morning, she was staring out her window when she knew something was missing. Like her brain felt contended but her heart didn't. She knew there was a space in her heart aching for the absence of someone's presence.

She knew she was aching.

She knew something was missing.

Mark Lee was missing.
