Trying to Get Things Done

Yang's POV

'Are you sure you wanna storm their base, and then take Ruby back by force?' Mercury asked me, his eyes narrowed. I didn't know what that meant, it may have been a mocking look or a face full of disbelief, or perhaps he was just tired. I was far to outraged to care, so it didn't actually matter.

'What kind of dumb question is that? Of course that's what I'm gonna do.' I was mad, I knew that I was probably being very irrational, but all that mattered was my little sister. 

'That seems extremely reckless, not to mention dangerous. You sure you're up for the challenge?' Emerald had been keeping her distance, she was probably intimidated by me. We weren't very close, but occasionally we would strike a friendly conversation.

'Yes, I can't just leave her there, who knows what could happen."I was pacing around the room, my eyes glowing scarlet.

"Whatever you say, we'll assist you Blon- Yang." Mercury quickly corrected himself, I had heard him call me blondie before, it wasn't very creative. "We have to stick together at times like these."

Yes, yes we do. Just you wait Ruby, we're coming for you.

Ruby's POV

I woke up, again. It's good to know that even when I'm so far from home the sun still rises and falls, and that I could still force myself awake. I think the people here are keeping me in solitary confinement, I'm a strange thing for them apparently. I'm not sure if they are afraid of me, or if they want to know more about me, or if they just can't be bothered with me.

I'm not even sure when I've been waking up, there isn't a clock in here. Usually Weiss would nag me out of bed, or Yang would straight up drag me while Blake evades Zwei. I miss all of them... maybe time there is going super slow, and they haven't even noticed I'm gone. That would probably be bad, because nobody would rescue me!

This much time to myself is bad, I'm thinking way to much. I need to do something, like... training! Yeah, the Vital festival is coming up, I can't let my team down by being unprepared.

"Then I'll, train! My semblance could use some work... okay, that'll be my warm up!" I said aloud, feeling the need to talk, even if no one was listening.

I started to zoom around the room, running laps. After about a minute I was sweating, a lot. I fell in a heap on the floor, out of breath and unable to move.

"N-not... g-good enough." I managed to say. "I'll n-never stand a chance of winning, never."

After a few minutes, I sprang back up again. "Okay, now I'll do uh... sit ups! Yeah, those." I sat on the ground, and tried to lift my upper body. When I was halfway up, I lost balance and fell to the floor, hitting my head on the concrete.

"Okay, that didn't quite work out so... uh I'm gonna take a break, yeah." Feeling a little bit defeated, I sat on the edge of 'my' bed. This wasn't the greatest place to train, and I don't have Crescent Rose so that really limits what I can do...

"This is useless..." I mumbled, falling back onto the unfamiliar bed. I just stared at the roof for a while, wallowing in self pity.

After a while there was a knock on the door. "Come in." I called, not moving from my position. I thought that if they saw how miserable I was, they would let me do something, anything.

It was Steve, the blonde guy. He walked in slowly, awkwardly one might say, I turned my head and sat up a little. "I came to see if you were hungry." He said, making direct eye contact.

"YEAH- I mean, yeah, a little." I felt my face heat up, and I looked to the ground.

He chuckled at my outburst, making the tension fade a little bit. "Come with me then, I'll take you to the dining area."

He lead me out of the room, and I began my great journey in search of food.

A/N - So, it's been a while. It's been over a year since I started this book, and recently it hit 1000 reads (I don't know if it's reads or views, let's go with reads). Anyway, that was a shock, and I now feel terrible for never updating. I'll try to get better at updating, anyway leave comments and tell me how bad I am or something >_< That's all for now, don't give up on me yet!
