Don't Worry About It

Ruby Rose's POV

We had all returned to the SHIELD base, Grimm cleared out and a mission well done. It had been... challenging to drag Yang back here. She had been very frustrated, and wary of the Avengers. If I hadn't been around to show her it was safe, there's no way she'd make it back here without a fight.

"I don't care how we got here." Yang was sitting at the table, everyone trying to explain the situation to her. "I just want to know how to get back."

"We are trying to figure that out. You just need to be patient." Director Fury reasoned, I was slightly distracted as I had spent this whole ordeal making up an epic backstory for him. His eye was a total mystery to her... maybe she would start wearing a cool eye-patch

"We can't just be expected to sit here and do nothing!" This time Yang raised her voice slightly, slamming a fist on the table.

"Y-Yang, calm down!" I put my hand on her arm. "These people are just trying to help us!"

"What if they're just using us? Emerald and Mercury did, and I thought we could trust them!"

"It's not our fault you have poor judgement." Tony muttered, eyes not leaving his phone screen.

"What did you just say!?"

"Everyone needs to calm down!" Steve said, everyone turned their attention to him. The tension still lingered in the air.

Needless to say, the conversation carried on for what felt like years. Eventually everyone dispersed, until it was just Yang, Bruce and I.

"So... you aren't afraid of needles, are you?" Bruce asked Yang.

Meanwhile with the villains...

"Emerald ran out of aura?" Cinder asked, an expression of annoyance on her face.

"Yes." Mercury was fixing his hair in a smashed mirror, only half paying attention to the conversation. "The blonde roughed her up, and one of the locals hit her while we were escaping."

Cinder yelled out with frustration, blasting swirling flames at a nearby junk pile. "This... is... hopeless!" She roared.

"Calm down now, you don't want to break a nail." Roman Torchwick called out, entering the room with Neo.

"Shut up you fool!" Cinder grabbed the box from the nearby stone it was sitting upon. "This thing is useless!"

"Why don't you just call for reinforcements?" Mercury suggested.

"I'm running out of options..." Cinder muttered. "We'll continue on our own, for now. Should matters get worse, I will call in... help."

"I bet that's painful for you to say!" Teased Roman, Neo smirking at Cinder.

Cinder scowled at him, raising her hand. "You dare talk to me like that?" She snapped at him.

"H-hey, it was just a joke! Lighten up a little!" He panicked. "It's just comedy, however will we get through the fall of Beacon Academy without comedy?" He rambled, hands raised in surrender.

"If you don't stay in line, I'll just kill you." Cinder threatened, voice cold like ice. "You are running out of uses, Roman. Step it up."

Cinder turned away, flicking small flames in his direction.

Ruby Rose's POV

Yang reacted to Bruce's tests better than expected. She had been hesitant and suspicious, but went along with it nonetheless. We were now sitting in a lounge area, with Bruce, Steve and Tony.

"So your... 'semblance', what does it do?" Steve asked Yang.

"My attacks get stronger the more hits I take." She explained, keeping it simple.

"And when you get mad, your eyes turn red and you can hit super hard!" I chirped in, trying to be helpful in explaining.

"Anger issues? Sounds like a certain Hulk." Tony said, poking Bruce.

"That's right! You guys are kinda similar." I gasped, this simple observation completely blowing my mind.

"I suppose." Yang replied, looking down at her lap. "I wonder what Blake is doing... does she even know I'm gone?"

"I'm sure the others are looking." I told her, feeling somewhat saddened.

"But... I could never just leave a friend behind, what if she thinks I ran off or something?"

"Don't worry about it." Steve awkwardly chimed in. "I'm sure she doesn't think that, so you two should just worry about getting home safely."

"Yeah..." Yang muttered. She was so sad... this just wasn't normal, and it was freaking me out!

"Well, I'm tired!" I announced, breaking the awkward atmosphere. "I'm going to bed!"

Blake Belladonna's POV

"Weiss..." I started, breaking the silence in our strangely empty dorm. "What'll we do? Now Yang is gone..."

"Don't worry about it, I'm sure they're fine."

"Yeah..."

"We just need to get them home. Ozpin is doing everything he can, it'll work out."

"Yeah..."
