Weiss' POV

I was in the mess hall with team Juniper. Blake was God knows where, so I was stuck alone - missing Ruby and Yang. Nora was playing with her food - apparently it was quite the hysterical affair - Ren was trying to control her, Jaune was being noticeably less annoying than usual and Pyrrha and I were conversing.

"Ozpin's not doing anything?" She asked referring to my lack of teammates.

"No." It was so infuriating. Surely he of all people could do something. His behaviour was quite bizarre; suspicious even...

"Well, I'm sure they're fine." Pyrrha was trying to reassure me like the kind soul she was. That's all I'd been hearing lately; reassuring comments and sympathy. When would they learn that I don't need sympathy and that what I needed was a search party?

"Doesn't help that Blake's been off in her own little world lately, I have no idea where she is now..."

"She's probably just out looking." Ren said, voice as calm as it always is.

"Right." We were silent for an extremely uncomfortable moment. The silence was quickly broken by my scroll beeping. It was a text from Blake; 'Come meet me' with a location.

"That's Blake, I have to go."

I left immediately and ended up in a sketchy looking street. Moving quickly I headed for the place we were meant to be meeting at - I did not want to be spotted here.

She was standing outside of what appeared to be a store. This assumption stemmed from the huge metal shutter and the tacky neon lettering. 

"Okay, what is going on?" I accused. "First you disappear and then you call me to some shady red light district?" 

"I've found a lead." Suddenly, I felt inclined to forgive her. She didn't bother to give me too many details before she led me into the store. "We're going to get them back."

I thought for a moment. Processing. 

"Well it's about damn time."

Ruby's POV:

"Weiss! I've missed you so, so much!" I ran towards her, flinging my arms around her. "You wouldn't believe the week I've had..."

"And you wouldn't believe the week I've had. I haven't had a proper sleep in days. All because of you, dinglebrain!"

"I'm sorry..." I was very sorry. It's not like I wanted to leave but I somehow felt responsible. Everyone was so worried... 

"I accept your apology - hesitantly, I might add." Whoop- there it is. What an Ice Queen!

I was still holding her in my arms. "Then I'll have to make it up to you even more then." Her cold hand was now resting on my face, gently coaxing it towards her own visage. Our lips were mere inches away. 

"Weiss..."

"Shh, don't ruin it." She whispered.

Glorious contact. 

This was a nice little thing we had always had between us - 'a small affair' as Weiss had coined it. Every time our flesh met it was purely electric. Yang and Blake had yet to catch on. But the two of us knew well that they were in a similar boat to us. Our kiss, sacred and pure, didn't break for a beautifully long while. 

"Ruby... never leave me again..."

"I won't. You can count on that."

We went in for another smooch, faces slowly drawing together. I could stay like this for hours, no, an eternity of-

"GET UP!" Yang yelled, hitting me over the head with her pillow. 

"Kya! I'm up! I promise!" And there it goes. It was all a fantasy. Here I was, still trapped in another world. Yippee. 

"Tony is looking for you." She stated blankly, going back to bed herself. 

"Wait! Why do you get to sleep?" I whined at her. 

"Because nobody is looking for me." Her voice was hollow. Oh Yang...

I didn't know how to respond to that... so I didn't. Slipping into the bathroom, I got myself dressed and left the room. Yang didn't respond to my farewell. 

Tony was in a big meeting room of some sort. 

"So, we've made a decision on Yang and yourself."

"What do you mean 'made a decision'..?" I asked.

"It means we know what to do with you."

Oh dear... I knew this day was coming. They were going to cut me up and put me in a hundred tiny glass jars to poke and prod at. 

He continued; "We want you to become a part of the Avengers initiative."

"Wait, what?" 

"Yes, you heard me right. We-"

"I thought I already was a part of it!" 

"Oh brother..."
