* Third Person POV * 

Emily laid in bed staring at the ceiling. She knew that Ethan was looking for but she didn't care. Tears rolled down her face. She wiped them away. 

Why am I even crying? It's not like I know the guy.

She turned over on her side falling asleep. 

"Emily." Ethan called for her. 

She heard her door open. Emily kept her eyes closes. 

"I don't know what to do." Ethan sat next to her. "I want to support you I really do but what if he turns on you? What if he ends up using you to get get at dad." 

Emily sat up. 

"I understand your concern." She sighed. "You think I haven't been thinking about the same thing? My wolf won't talk to me because I'm keeping her from our mate." 

"Why did you leave school?" Ethan asked. 

"I needed to get my mind off of him." Emily closed her eyes. "His scent is embedded in my head." 

"I found my mate today." Ethan smiled. "She's Storm's sister." 

"What!?" Emily looked at him with wide eyes. "Aunt Storm has a sister our age?" 

Ethan nodded. 

"How did you find out?" Emily asked. 

"I hit her with my car-"

Emily gasped. 

"By accident." Ethan continued. 

"Were you speeding again?" Emily arched her brow. 

Ethan looked down at the ground. 

"What did I tell you about speeding." She slapped his arm. 

Ethan got comfortable in his sister bed as they talked the night away. Ethan woke up to the sunlight shinning in his face. He smiled seeing his sister sleeping peacefully. He got up and left making sure not to wake her up. 

"Dad." He walked into his father's office. "We have to talk." 

"About?" Kaiser leaned back in his chair. 

"Emily's mate." Ethan sat down. "It's unfair." 

"How? He's the son of my rival pack." Kaiser said. 

"Dad, they haven't done anything to us in years. We don't even know if he's still alive after what you did to him." Ethan felt his anger build up. 

"Exactly my point son." Kaiser leaned forward. "How do I know that this guy isn't going to hurt my little girl." 

"Do you know that Emily's wolf won't even talk to her because Emily refuses to see their mate just to keep you happy." Ethan clinched his jaw shut. "My sister is hurting. I won't sit back and watch her die from the inside out all because of your rivalry with some pack who we haven't heard from in years." 

Ethan stood, he stopped at the door. 

"I'll keep an eye out on him, but you gotta grow up. Emily needs her mate." Ethan walked out.

"Why did you leave campus yesterday." Andy walked up to Emily. 

She could tell he was worried. 

"Let's not talk about it." Emily sighed. 

Ethan walked up growling at the sight of Andy. Andy froze out of fear. 

"You don't have to be afraid of him." Emily smiled. "He only does that because he knows he'll get a reaction out of you." 

There was another growl but this time it wasn't Ethan's but it definitely belonged to an Alpha. Emily spun around, her eyes meeting with her mate's. Her eyes never leaving his as he walked up. 

"Mate." He cupped her face. 

Emily felt a tingle sensation run through her body. Her wolf felt at ease. 

"It's okay if you want to reject me." He pressed his lips together. "I know our fathers are on bed terms." 

Emily's eyes searched his. 

"I don't want to reject you." Emily shook her head. 

"But you kept avoiding me." His said sounding confused. 

"Only to make my father happy." Emily rolled her eyes. "But then I realized I should be making myself happy." 

"Can I just but in here for a quick moment." Ethan slid into their conversation. 

"Ethan." Emily's mate bowed his head. 

"Mark." Ethan greeted him the same way. "I don't agree with what my dad was trying to do, well I did but after Emily and I talked- What I'm saying is don't hurt her." 

"I would never." Mark looked down at Emily. 

"Don't rush things just because our fathers hate each other." Ethan added. 

"Why do our fathers hate each other?" Emily asked. 

Ethan and Mark looked at each other. 

"What happened to her traumatized her so much that she made herself forget about that day." Ethan looked at his sister. 

Emily pulled away from Mark. 

"I'm not talking to either of you until you tell me." Emily went to walk away from them but Mark grabbed her hand. 

"I'll tell you, but promise me you won't get mad." His eyes softened up. 

"After school." Emily said. "Me and Ethan usually go to subway, we can go there and talk." 

They all went their separate way as the bell rang. 

"I don't like how she hangs with that vampire." She heard Mark say to Ethan. 

"Me neither." Ethan said. 

Emily rolled her eyes.
