* Emily's POV *

I sat in class, I couldn't focused on anything but the scent that I smelt in the school halls. I smiled just thinking about it. I wanted to bury myself in it. I wanted to smell more of it. I need more of it. I stood, grabbing my stuff and walked out.

I walked around sniffing the air. I stopped at a class room where the scent was strong. I looked in to see that it was my brothers class room. He gave me a curious look and stood.

"Um, Ethan what are.." He looked at his teacher and she bowed her head. "Sorry."

I looked over to see boy with jet black hair, his grey eyes locked with mine. I stumbled back, almost falling but Ethan caught me. The boy stood, but I moved in front of Ethan. Ethan eyes searched mine. He didn't need words to know what was going on.

"Who?" He whispered.

He turned his head to see the guy standing. Ethan let out a growl but it didn't phrase the boy. He tilted his head. His eyes darkened, a storm grey. Suddenly my body covered in chills.

"Ethan." I grabbed his arm.

"What is going here." We both looked to see the principal.

"Nothing, but me and Emily have to leave." Ethan grabbed his stuff from the class room.

We rushed out the school. I got into Ethan car and covered my face with my hands.

"Emily, he can't be your mate." Ethan growled.

"Why not?" I looked at him.

"He's an Alpha ... soon to be Alpha." Ethan sighed. "Of the pack that is dad's enemy."

"You expect me to stay away from my mate?" I looked at him and he looked at me like I was crazy.

"Yes, Em." He sighed. "I will not have my sister's mate be some guy from a pack that our pack hates."

"I'm not gonna live without my mate." I went to open the door but he grabbed my arm, a low chilling growl came from him.

I made a whining noise and looking down at my lap. I didn't dare to even move. This side of Ethan is the scariest.

He pulled off. When we got home I jumped out the car and ran for it. I ran right to my mom.

"Mom!" I shouted sniffing her out.

She was in the office. I opened to the door to see my mom and dad. My eyes widen seeing my dad. I backed out and bumped into Ethan. He grabbed my arm and pushed me into the room.

"Her mate is the Alphas son of the pack you don't like." Ethan spoke.

I looked at my dad as his eyes darkened in color.

"Is that so?" He looked at me.

I looked away from me.

"Emily, is it true?" My dad asked me.

"Yes." My voice was whisper like.

"I see." He stood and walked over to me.

My eyes contacted to his.

"You are not allowed to go near him, don't touch him." He sighed. "Don't interact with him."

My mom stood. The anger that radiated off of her made our dad freeze. 

"After the bullshit I went through, I refuse to let it happen to my baby girl." Her voice was strong with anger. "I know you that his dad is your enemy but I will not sit around and watch you do this to our daughter." 

Dad growled upsetting Ethan and I but mom wasn't phased by it. I looked down at floor. It's my fault they are arguing. 

"How did you find out?" He asked.

"His scent." I mumbled. "I wanted to find out where it came from so I followed it to Ethan's class room." 

I'm seventeen almost eighteen years old. I can't be mateless my whole life. I don't even know if we get a second chance at this mate thing. Now that I found my mate, he turns out to be a potential enemy. But what I hate this most is my mom and dad arguing. 

"I'll stay away from him." I couldn't hide the sadness in my voice. "Just don't argue." 

I went to my room and just sat there looking out the window for what felt like hours. My eyes widened as I seen a grayish black wolf with grey glowing eyes come from behind the trees. My wolf cried out. I closed the curtains. Tears ran down my face. It hurts. There was knock at my door as it opened. 

"Now what if I was getting undressed?" I said arching my brow. "Ya'll gotta stop doing that." 

"There was wolf on the property, your father asked us make sure you were okay." One of the guards said.

"Okay." I nodded. "Tell my mom to tell him that I am fine." 

I looked out the window to see that he was gone.Every bone in my body wanted to run after him. To run after my mate.
