* Emily's POV *

We sat eating. The wolves in the restaurant kept staring at us. What bugged me the most was how this girl kept eyeing my brother and my mate. I put my sub down turning to face her.

"May I help you?" I raised my brows.

"Yeah, they both deserve way better." She smiled.

I started laughing.

"She's my sister." Ethan pinched the bridge of his nose. "We're twins, how can you not see them?"

"And I couldn't have asked for a better mate." Mark smiled.

"Also, we're all Alphas here. I'm sure you know that." I smiled at her. "Don't start with me, you won't be able to finish."

"Okay, calm down." Mark placed his hand on my back.

"What happened that I made myself forget about it?" I asked them.

"When we were ten." Ethan started. "We were outside playing and these group of men walked up claiming to be friends with dad."

"They actually worked for my dad." Mark chimed in. "Somehow my dad was able to find out who my mate was. I'm thinking a witch had helped him."

"These guys tried to kidnap you. I fought them off as best as I could." Ethan put his head down.

"They ended up kidnapping you and hiding you in our dungeon." Mark sighed. "Your cries broke my heart. I went against my father and set you free but by the time I did your father was already there with his men. A fought broke out between them."

"I managed to sneak out and follow them. Mark was there with you trying to calm you down." Ethan said. "Out of anger I fought him and won."

I rolled his eyes.

"I was kidnapped by your pack?" I looked at Mark.

He nodded his head.

"Ever since then me and my father have been on bad terms until recently." He sighed. "My dad fell sick and it just keeps getting worse."

I grabbed his hand.

"I want to make peace with all the packs that my father did wrong." Mark sighed. "I'll be Alpha sooner than I expect it."

"Patch things up with your dad before it's too late." Emily sighed. "Ethan and I will make sure our father doesn't try any stupid shit."

I put my head down as I saw Kagen walk into Subway. I could feel his eyes on us.

"Your father is going to kill you." He walked up. "I rushed over here as soon as I heard."

He shook his head.

"I'm with Ethan, do you really think that-"

Everyone in the restaurant suddenly stood and rushed out. I gasped as my father walked in. I stood moving in front of Mark. He stood grabbing me by my waist and moving me aside.

"Mark-"

"Don't worry about me Princess." He smiled sadly.

"Dad please-"

"Shut up Emily." He growled.

"Don't talk to her like that." Ethan stood.

"He won't hurt me." I sighed. "I know that's what you're worried about."

"How can I trust him after what-"

"That was my fathers doing." Mark cut him off. "I'm not my father."

"You have his blood running through you." Kaiser said. "I will not have my daughter be mated to a-"

"I hate you." My eyes started to tear up. "Everything that I have ever did was to make you happy."

"Em-"

"Shut up and listen." I growled. "I love you dad I do, but I'm not your little girl anymore. You gotta stop this. I can handle myself."

"I will not have them kick me while I'm down." My father grabbed my arm yanking me away from Mark.

I winced in pain. Mark growled his growl sent chills down my spin.

"Let her go." Mark's voice was deep with anger. "She's not yours anymore."

My father laughed. It was a mad mans laugh.

Ethan grabbed me pulling me to him. I buried my face into his chest. I couldn't help but to cry. I turned and looked at my dad.

"I'm going home." I said sounding tired.

I walked out, I kept walking. I decided to go the park instead of home. I sat on the swings and watched as the sun went down. I heard my name being called, not wanting to go home I climbed up a tree.

"If my baby girl is gone because of you I will never forgive you." I heard my mom's voice crack.

"Let me call Mark." Ethan said. "He'll be able to find her."

"I don't want him around-"

I knew right when I heard the sound that my mom has slapped my dad.

"My baby is out here missing. I don't care what we have to do get her back home." She was crying.

It broke my heart to hear her crying but I didn't move. I leaned against the trunk of the tree and closed my eyes.

"How long are you going to stay up here?" I heard Mark say.

"I don't wanna go home." I mumbled. "I rather be up here than in a house with him."

"They're out looking for you." Mark climbed up. "Your pregnant mom is worried sick about you."

"I know." I sighed. "But I'm not going home."

I looked at him.

"You know that my dad kidnapped my mom, not once but twice." I said shaking my head. "He's done some horrible shit too."

A gust of cold wind swept through. I rubbed my arms as Mark put his jacket over me.

"I would say come with me but I don't want to get in trouble with your father." He pulled me close. "I know it's going to be hard but we can get through this."

"I was looking forward to finding my mate and starting a family, all of that is being ripped away from me." I cried.

When he didn't say anything I looked at him. He was holding back tears. Mark turned to me cupping my face. He leaned in kissing me.

"Let me mark you." His whispered against my lips.
