⋆ A Year Later ⋆

Emily stood looking at herself in the mirror. She placed her hand over her stomach.

"Tonight I'm going to tell him." She turned looking at her mother. "After the wedding."

"Good." She smiled. "I'm surprised he can't hear the heart beat."

"I think he has, the other day he looked at me and asked if I heard something, of course I said no." Emily sighed. "I don't know how to tell him. Mark has been talking about a family, and we're still young."

"Calm down." Her mother hugged her. "I had you and your brother when I was young."

She looked at Emily. "It's okay."

"Did Mark have a twin?" Emily asked.

"No, surprisingly he was the only one." She laughed lightly. "Come on, they're ready."

⋆ After The Wedding ⋆

Emily sat on the bed thinking of ways to tell him. She only had a little bit of time to think before he came up to the room. She chewed her lip nervously. The opened and she stood quickly. Mark widened his eyes, shocked.

"Is something wrong?" He asked.

"I'm pregnant." She quickly said.

"Finally she tells me." Mark walked over to her.

"You-you know?" Emily asked.

Mark nodded his head, placing his hand on her stomach.

"I can hear his little heart beat." He smiled. "Only one?" He looked up at her.

Emily nodded.

"Only one." She repeated.

"One is all we need for now." Mark kissed her. 

"I already have a name for him." Emily patted her stomach. "Oh wanna see the ultrasound?" 

She rushed over to the bedside stand opening the draw taking out a baby book. Emily walked back over to Mark showing him the ultrasound. 

"Jace is a big boy." Emily laughed. 

"I can't believe you waited almost two months to tell me." Mark placed his hands on her hips. "We're a family." 

Emily's eyes watered up. 

"This tiny human being that I'm carrying is going to get the world." Emily sniffed. "I won't have him go through the same pain my brother and I went through." 

"Don't cry." Mark wiped her cheeks. "Are you hungry? I'll cook you up something." 

"Yeah I didn't have much to eat anyways." Emily said as they were walking out the room. 

Mark stopped and slowly turned to her. 

"Em, you're not eating for one anymore." Mark pressed his lips together. "If I check you missing a meal I'll force feed you." 

"Okay okay." Emily put her hands up in defense. "I promise I won't skip a meal."

"Come on, we still need stuff for his room." Emily said grabbing her bag. 

"Princess, the doctor said for you to be on bed rest. The baby could come anytime soon." Mark grabbed her by the waist. "Go lay down." 

"No. Let's go." Emily turned headed for the door. 

Mark groaned with frustration. He followed his mate out the door. Mark made sure the seat belt was on properly. He rubbed her stomach smiling.
