ADELAIDE'S POV

I ran to the roof of the school, and sat on the edge, setting my books beside me. I wasn't afraid of anyone catching me up here because, all the teachers were teaching, even the principal. Not to mention this was my last class, if I ditched, I don't think anyone would really care. I could even just say I felt sick. I have never done anything bad like this before, but I needed it.

I felt another tear.

"You know, I don't think it's so safe up here." A voice said, making my heart jump.

I turned around, Ash.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in class right now?" I asked,

"I could ask you the same thing."

I looked at him, another tear falling down my cheek. So I turned away from him,

"Not to mention, you were crying in the hallway, so I decided to follow you. And when I saw you go to the roof, I had to make sure you weren't going to do anything stupid."

"I'm not suicidal, if that's what you're trying to get at."

I could hear him chuckle, and then he sat next to me. He unzipped his backpack, and got out a juice box.

"You want one?" He asked, after he opened it.

"No, but I do have a question." I said looking at him.

"Hmm." He replied, while I watched him puncture the juice box with the straw.

"Why do you have juice in your backpack?"

I laughed a little and so did he.

"In case of a situation like this."

"When a girl you just meet is crying in the hallway, and you follow her pathetic-self to the roof?"

"No, for when I see someone who is stressed out, and needs something to," he paused, "make them feel better."

I raised my eyebrows,

"Oh really."

"Yeah."

He took another sip.

"Are you sure you don't want one?"

"I'm good."

"Did you know that you haven't lived until you have had a juice box on the rooftop?"

"Where'd you learn that fact?"

"Ways to Live for dummies." He joked.

He handed me a juice box from his backpack.

I smiled, and took a drink.

"Now you have lived."

I laughed, then rolled my eyes, playfully.

"Whatever, Colton."

After he finished laughing, he looked at me with a goofy smile. Which made me laugh, and made juice come out of my nose. And he laughed,

"That's not funny." I tried not to laugh.

"It really is." He said, handing me a napkin.

I took it and wiped my face. We were silent for a moment, until

"You never told me your name." He stated,

"That's because I never have it." I replied.

"Are you going to tell me it?"
