(Harlem Taylor)
Rochelle Kent POV
I walked into school and noticed Harlem standing on his own. I then saw Kyle standing at his locker grabbing some of his books. I looked away and made my way to my own locker. I opened it and placed some books inside that I needed for later on. I turned around and saw both Kyle and Harlem."We need to talk." They said at once and they looked at each other then mugged each other too.
"Look, I'm not in the mood today. So if y'all can leave me alone, it would be great." I politely stated.
Just looking at Kyle made me think about what I said to my father. I can't believe he can't pay attention to his sons but only me. I'm starting to feel like my Uncle O's got my cousins and brothers watching my every move. That's why I wanna keep my distance from the both of them. I slid passed them and made my way outside where Taya was sitting on her own and writing in her notebook.
"Hey best friend." I grinned.
"Hey." She smiled.
"Whatcha' doing?" I asked and sat opposite her.
"Waiting for yo' ass to marry Harlem!" She laughed a little.
I was feeling really guilty right now and I needed to get it off of my chest. You know, Kyle and I..I'm them type of people that if something happens, I need to talk it out so I can feel better. Besides, if I don't tell Taya then shit could go wrong, badly!
"Look, I gotta tell you something T." I sighed.
"That you kissed Kyle and your uncle caught the both of y'all and told you parents?" She asked.
"H--How--?" My jaw fell down to the ground.
"Yo' big headed brother Kash told me." She laughed.
"It's more like he kissed me." I sighed.
"Look, it's cool. It's how your feeling and it's got nothing to do with me. Kyle and I ain't as close as we used to be." She shrugged.
"To be honest, I don't know. He says that he likes me.".
"Do you?".
"I don't know.." I shook my head.
"You should totally go for it! Y'all would be cute." She smiled.
"You really think so?" I bit down on my lip.
"Yeah, I would definitely." She nodded her head.
"Wassup baby?" Jeremiah hugged Taya from behind.
"Hey." She kissed his cheek.
"Wassup Cuz?" He smiled.
"Hey.".
"You ain't been up to no trouble, have you?" He squinted his eyes.
"W--." My heart skipped a beat.
"I'm joking." He laughed.
"I'll catch y'all later." He walked off.
"Oh my gosh! Did you hear that?!" I clasped my hands together and placed it on my chest.
"You gotta be more careful." She warned me.
Harlem Taylor POV
"Shut the fuck up!" Lamar cursed at Romain."Lil nigga you better not be talking to me like that!" He grabbed Lamar in a headlock.
"Beat his ass!" Jamila yelled and clapped her hands together.
I sat in the corner witnessing it all but eventually left the room. All the adults were in the dining room laughing away but I slid open the door and stepped into the back garden. I sat on the chair swing and looked around breathing in the fresh air and exhaling it. The doors opened and I quickly turned around and my eyes landed on Rochelle. She had a plate of food in her hand but as soon as she saw me, she rolled her eyes.
