16 YEARS LATER
Rochelle Kent POV
"Morning baby girl, rise and shine." My mom walked into my room with a huge smile on her face."Mom.." I groaned.
"Is there any need for you to wake me up so early?" I rolled my eyes a little.
"C'mon, first day of school baby girl." She kissed my forehead.
"Oh..yeah.." I sighed and got out of bed.
"Now hurry yo' ass up before you're late. You know how long you take to get dressed." She walked out of my room.
I walked over to my mirror and looked at my face. During the summer, I've been getting these pimples and they're horrible with the puss that's inside. With my face clear, I can look pretty for prom which is like months away. I walked into my bathroom and began to take care of my hygiene which took me like 30 minutes because I was listening to music. That's just my thing, I have to have music when I'm getting ready. Once I was ready, I wore the outfit that I was planning on wearing. My red Bardot bodysuit, my black jeans and my black Tuned Nike 1's. Today was a normal September day, except, my siblings and I are starting a new school year.
I'm in my final year and I can't wait to get out of the bitch. I'm in most of the classes with motherfuckin' best friend Taya and my twin brother, Romain. He's so annoying but, I love him. We do anything and everything for each other. As a baby, I was the loud one and he was quiet. As I grew older, he became loud and I became quiet. It's probably because I'm literally the only female cousin other than Jamila, uncle Kenyon and aunty Yolanda's daughter and Ayana, uncle Ty and aunty Nala's 8 year old daughter All my other cousins are boys, even my younger siblings. Marcus is 16 and is a junior. He's who we just call Kash. He's the brother that I literally don't sometimes get along with. Not that we fight but he's always doing something to piss me off, literally. Then, we got Tobias who's the sophomore, the brother I get along with quite well. I am the only girl in the family right now because my cousin is in Australia for something at school, but I quite like it. I get all the attention.
"Rochelle, hurry yo' ass up!" Romain smacked his teeth.
"Calm the fuck down!" I rolled my eyes.
"Who the fuck you telling to calm down?!" He busted into the room.
"Romain!!" I shouted his name.
"I'm getting changed!!" I added.
"You ain't getting changed, you dancing! Hurry up, we all hungry and we waiting for yo' ass!" He pulled me out of my room.
I folded my arms and smacked my teeth. We walked down the hallway of our big ass home until we reached our dining room. I folded my arms and walked over to the empty seat next to Marcus. I looked at my father and put a smile on my face.
"Good morning daddy.".
"Good morning princess, how was your sleep?" He asked me.
"It was good thank you, and you?" I returned.
"Last night was beautiful with my wife." He winked at my mother.
"Ew.." Both Tobias and Marcus looked away.
We all held hands together but I noticed Kash throw his head back and sigh. We always pray and religion plays a big part in the family. We have a picture of Christ in the living room, the dining room, daddy's office, mama's hair salon but in the bedrooms, we have crosses. Daddy added all this after Tobias was born. I remember him saying to me that he had put it up so that God can bless this family and can look over us.
"Do we gotta do this all the time?" Marcus asked.
"Yes, why you asking stupid questions, we always say grace." Romain looked at him sternly in his eyes.
