1 MONTH LATER
Rochelle Kent POV
It's been a month since Harlem and I have been dating. We're still keeping it on the low. Now that daddy's got his cameras in the house, we gotta be extra careful. Harlem is such a gentlemen. He's been taking me out during this autumn term holiday and I've always gotta lie to my dad about going to Taya's house. My mom caught on to Harlem and I dating and she gave me advice about relationships. As for the others, they don't know nothing. I haven't even told my best friend about the both of us."Okay, Imma need to use the sewing machine." I approached Ms Basinger.
"Alright, go ahead. Don't forget to use the straight stitch." She instructed.
"That's not fair! Why can't you help me but help her?" Kirsty folded her arms and gave me the evil side eye.
"Because, you haven't even started to draw an idea, you barely even what the theme is, you never listen to my instructions and you don't know how to use the machines." Ms Basinger explained clearly and I stood behind her smirking so Kirsty could see me.
"Well then, I'll just have to take home as homework." She raised her brow.
"Miss Miller, you going home and getting your father to hire people isn't going to get you nowhere. You need to learn to do things on your own. You could always come after school to me so I can show you the ropes so that you're ready for the competition. You gonna back already?" Ms Basinger folded her arms as I did too.
"N..no.." Kirsty mumbled as she glared at me.
I batted my eyes before turning on my heels to walk to the sewing machine. I was now able to do things without the cast. I went to therapy and they helped out with using stuff. Like opening doors on my arm that was shot at. Now, it's just wrapped around with a bandage. I was used to having a cast and I kinda miss it. I sat down on the seat before I started working on the sewing machine. Using the sewing machine, I had to be careful. Holding the fabric down was the key part of sewing. Otherwise, the stitches will go everywhere and I don't want that.
It took a while but I finally managed to get there in the end. Just time before the bell went off. I put my things away and tied up before gathering my stuff and making my way out. Walking out of the classroom, my arm got yanked to the side and I realised that it was Harlem standing in front of me. I smiled and so did he. We both had free period after lunch and he wanted to take me somewhere.
"Alright, where are you taking me?" I questioned.
"Just wait and see." He winked and licked his lower lip.
We walked out of the school building and made our way to his car. He opened the door for me and I looked back at him folding my arms.
"You don't have to always open the door for me, you know?" I tell him.
"Sorry. I just thought with therapy and whatnot.." He scratched the back of his head.
I thanked him anyways and got inside and watched as he jogged to his side. After putting my seatbelt on, I began to close my fingers and open them. I could feel his eyes looking at my hand so I looked up at him and smiled small wondering what he wanted.
"What?" I questioned.
"Nothing." He shook his head driving out of the school grounds.
