Jacin wasn't prepared for the deadness of the house. There was nearly no one inside, and the few pack members they did see died before they could call for the others. Wolf had leapt forward, causing slight scrabbles before ultimately ripping out the throats of the wolves. His broken hand didn't seem to phase him in the slightest.

No one had moved from the door, just stuck in a horrified trance at seeing the ferocity of which Wolf killed his enemies. Jacin sent a silent thank you to Thorne in his head, grateful that Winter hadn't been here to see this.

Ever since Winter had told him how she was feeling about Wolf, Jacin found himself noticing things he didn't notice before. The madness that lingered in his eyes, the way he stared off at nothing for minutes on end. The violent fits.

Jacin wasn't scared of him, he told himself. More like cautious.

Yeah, cautious.

But even that label made Jacin feel guilty beyond belief. Wolf was one of his best friends! It was a ridiculous thought to be even cautious around him.

After Wolf had gotten rid of the pack members on the floor, the crew was cast into confusion. There was no point to Jacin and Cinder being on this floor. So, did they follow Wolf and Kai?

And where had the pack members gone? Why weren't they here?

Cinder noticed his questioning gaze, and cleared her throat, loudly. "Uh... Let's go find Scarlet, I guess?"

It was all Jacin needed to be convinced to follow the group upstairs. Wolf sniffed the air, then began bounding up the large wooden staircase, the rest of the crew clamoring up the stairs behind him.

Wolf made a sharp turn into a room directly by the end of the stairs, slamming into a door with his shoulder, busting it off of it's hinges. He raced in, and immediately screams of "WHERE IS SHE, YOU BASTARD?" could be heard.

Jacin followed Kai and Cinder in, gun poised, to an odd sight.

The room was barely big enough for everyone to fit in, space taken up by a king size bed with black sheets and a dying pack member on it. His chest was entirely red, several holes having been pierced in it. A bloody knife sat on the floor, doused in the red liquid.

Jacin took a moment to give the wolf a once over, determining that if he wasn't already, he would be dead within minutes. There was a certain amount of blood that could be lost before you were determined a gonner. He had passed that point already, and there seemed to not be an end to the bleeding.

Wolf was leaning over the figure, shaking him violently, screaming the words over again. "WHERE IS SHE? IF YOU HURT HER WYNN, I SWEAR TO ALL THE STARS, I WILL SEW UP YOUR CHEST JUST TO KEEP YOU ALIVE FOR MY OWN TORTURE! YOU DON'T DESERVE TO DIE!"

The man only laughed, causing a rather large amount of blood to come out of his mouth, pooling on the covers with the blood that had already left his body.

Wolf seemed very prepared to stitch this man up indeed, but he lost all of his focus when, from outside the window, a small voice saying "Wolf? could be heard.

Wolf launched himself off of the bed and out the window, scanning the roof for Scarlet. At seeing something, he tore off in the direction the voice was coming from and out of view.

Jacin turned back to the man, prepared to shoot and put him out of his misery. It was clear he was in pain and already on his way out. He aimed his gun at the man's head. "Say goodnight."

Cinder glanced at him, not seeming to understand. Jacin figured it was because she didn't know the limits to a pool of blood. She might have thought he had a chance. Jacin didn't feel the need to explain what he was doing to Cinder. They'd get to that later.

Wynn had a different idea.

With a quick draw, he pulled a gun from his pocket and shot without aiming, hitting Kai in the chest.
