"Teddy! A little help please." My mom yells as my two little sisters and I run through the house.

"Oh wait I got one." My step dad Teddy replies as he catches my youngest sister Daphne and spins her around. My mom gives her a kiss before repeating the action to me as well as my other little sister Maddie.

"I love you." She tells us once she's done handing out kisses. "Alright Ill see y'all before I go." Mom states before running off to finish getting ready.

"Yep." Teddy responds carrying Daphne through the hallway Maddie and I following close behind.

"Why does she have to work?" Daphne asks Teddy.

"Somebody's gotta work around here." Teddy explains.

"I thought we were rich." Daphne states.

"We are honey but now now we're a different kind of rich called cash poor. And besides it is bad manners to talk about money." Teddy says before setting Daphne down in the bathroom and kissing her forehead. "Get in that tub now." He tells her sternly. "One two..."

"You look beautiful momma." I tell my mom right before she leaves. "Tell me again why I can't come watch you and Dad."

"Come on baby I've told you a million times. Not till you're older." Mom explains for the millionth time. She doesn't like any of us to be at her concerts all the time.

"Alright fine but tell Dad I said hi." I give up. I'm not up for arguing tonight.
-------------

"Mom are you going to be back for Halloween?" Daphne asks my mom on the ride to school.

"Well honey I honestly don't know but I'm really gonna try." Mom replies.

"Why don't you just take us on tour with you?" Maddie asks.

"Now there's an idea I agree with." I mention.

"We can sing back up." Daphne adds before starting to sing one of moms songs.

"Alright y'all are hired." Mom jokes. "You're coming with me just as soon as you graduate...from college."

"Hey it's Juliette Barnes turn it up." Maddie tells Daphne. Sure Juliette Barnes is an alright singer but her songs are pop definitely not country. Daphne turns up the radio and my sister start to sing along. I see mom's face drop and turn to an almost disgusted expression before  turning off the radio.

"Mom." Daphne pleads. "No why?"

"Momma's got a headache." Mom explains.
------------
"Harper come on please you have to. You're amazing. The world needs to hear that beautiful voice of yours." My best friends try to get me to sing at open mic night at the Bluebird. I know what your thinking. What kind of 15 year olds hang out at the Bluebird. You see me and my friends are different. We like the old country music not this new pop country you hear on the radio, the old music that was actually about something. It has purpose, it has meaning and that's why we like it. I'm the one who suggested we hang out there because my mom and Dad used to sing there and I know they had an epic romance unlike anything you would see in a movie. They wrote beautiful music together and that's what I want to do. Write beautiful music and be heard. There may not be many people that visit the Bluebird but the people that do understand my friend's and I. How we see the world. We've become regulars here and I wouldn't change that for the world.

"You know my mom would kill me." I reply. "And even if she was okay with it I'm not as good as her. I'd make a fool of myself."

"Harper stop doubting yourself. Seriously you are so good. I would literally kill for you voice. And I know you've got lots of your songs up in that head go sing one."
