Nashville chapter 16
"We're home." I yell through the house when my sisters and I get home.
"In the kitchen." Mom replies. I throw my backpack and shoes on the floor and hang up my keys before following my sisters into the kitchen. My eyes go wide. Why is Luke Wheeler in our kitchen? "Girls I'd like you to meet Luke Wheeler. Luke these are my daughters, Harper whom you've already met, Maddie, and Daphne."
"Not to be rude but what are you doing in our house?" I question.
"Well girls I've been wanting to talk to you. Luke and I have been seeing each other." My eyes widen once again. Luke Wheeler and my mom?

"Yeah he's so nice he has like a thousand horses and he said we could like go riding sometime." Daphne speaks to Aunt Tandy on the phone before being cut off by Maddie steeling the phone.
"Come home already. I miss you." Maddie says. "Here's mom." Maddie hands the phone to mom when she walks out of her closet. Maddie, Daphne and I walk out of the room. Aunt Tandy is at some spa in Naples I think.

"Congratulations." Maddie and I greet Juliette in her dressing room at the opre. Juliette moves out of the way to let us in and there stands my dad.
"Dad hey." I speak. Maddie and I make our way over to him to hug him. He looks a little uneasy.
"It's ok Juliette knows you're my dad too." Maddie tells our dad.
"That is not awkward at all. I'll let you three talk." Dad mentions before walking out.
"I bet this is gonna be you two one day. Being inducted into the Grand Ol Opre." Juliette praises while doing Maddie's makeup.
"You think so?" Maddie questions.
"Are you kidding? I've heard you sing. Not to mention you're the daughters of Rayna Jaymes and Deacon Claiborne which pretty much makes you country royalty."
"You know it's not fair what people are saying about you." I speak.
"It's the price of fame I guess."
"They're just bullies and bullies should not win." Maddie explains. Someone knocks on the door and the three of us look over to find Avery, Scarlett's ex-boyfriend. He must work for Juliette or something.
"Almost ready?" He asks Juliette.
"Yeah I'm just gonna get changed." Juliette replies.
"Alright well we'll let you get ready." Maddie tells Juliette standing up.
"I'll see you out there." Juliette replies. Maddie and I leave Juliette's dressing room to find mom and Daphne wherever they are.

"There you go." Austin Dillon finishes his autographed picture for Maddie.
"To Maddie see you in victory lane. Austin Dillon." Mom reads. "That is very sweet. It's not everyday you get an autograph from a serious champ."
"Well it's not everyday I get to race against Rayna Jaymes. We even shredded a little paint out there today." Austin Dillon replies.
"I know. Listen I told them they should let me drive they didn't listen to me."
"Well you're welcome on my team anytime. Y'all have a goodnight."
"Thank you." Mom says as he walks away. "Um anybody seen Luke?"
"I'll go find him." Daphne mentions before walking off.
"Course she will."
"Rayna excuse me." An old mm says walking up to mom, Maddie and I.
