Nashville chapter 11

"Mom! You're home." Daphne runs outside and my mom pulls her into a hug. Maddie and I stand in the doorway. "I missed you so much."

"I missed you so much." Mom repeats. Maddie and I turn around and go back inside. I know it's insensitive but I'm still really mad at her. I mean seriously she lied to me my whole life. Don't get me wrong I'm so relieved that she's home and alive but I can't over her lying so easily.
----------
"Where are you going?" Mom asks. I keep walking towards the door.

"Harper. Where are you going?" Teddy asks this time.

"Not sure yet but Landon, Dallas, Abby, and I are going out." I answer.

"Be back by curfew." Teddy tells me as I grab my purse and keys before walking out the door. I drive to Landon's because for once he's actually letting me drive because his truck is in the shop.

"Hey babe

"Hey babe." He greets me with a kiss once he's in the passenger seat of my truck. "I was thinking we'd go to Stage, Will Lexington is playing tonight I think."

"Sounds like a plan." I tell my boyfriend as I start driving toward Stage. I haven't been there in forever.

Sure enough Landon was right Will Lexington is playing. He's signed to my moms label. Landon and I dance throughout Will's set but he notices me while coming off the stage.

"You're Rayna's daughter right?" Will asks.

"Yeah. Harper and this is my boyfriend Landon." I introduce myself.

"Nice to meet you Harper and Landon but does your mom know you're at a bar?"

"What she doesn't know won't hurt her and besides who would tell her?" I question pleadingly.

"Hey you're young. Who am I to judge you for having a little fun." Will replies. I thank him before Landon and I decide it's time to go.

I yawn. "Maybe I should drive." Landon offers. I gratefully hand him my keys.
------------
"Can we have a little chat?" Mom asks Maddie and I as she sits down next to Maddie on the couch in the living room.

"I think I'm good." Maddie replies trying to avoid another conversation with our mom.

"I'd really love to just uh I'd love to know what's on your mind." Mom tells us.

"I don't know maybe what happens now?" Maddie questions.

" I don't know but let's figure it out together." Mom responds.

"Am I suppose to treat Deacon like another dad?" Maddie ask. "Do I split my time between you, daddy, and Deacon like Harper does?"

"Or are we just suppose to pretend that we don't know about Deacon?" Maddie continues. "And act like everything's the way it used to be."

"What about Daphne?" I ask.

"Girls I know all this is so confusing." Mom replies.

"We're not confused." Maddie argues.

"Our mom's a liar. Our biological dads an alcoholic. Our dad isn't even our dad. What's confusing about that?" Maddie says.

"I'm really sorry you girls see it that way."

"Yeah this was a great talk." Maddie stands up to leave and I follow.
------------
"Goodnight Daddy." Daphne tells Teddy before running off.

"Lights out before 10. I mean it." He calls after her. He pulls me into a hug and then Maddie. "I love you." He tells each of us.

"Love you too." Maddie and I reply.

"Don't stay up too late." He reminds us.

"We won't." I roll my eyes. Maddie and I start to walk up to our rooms. "Pretty little liars?" Maddie nods.

"I'm just gonna get ready for bed first. Be in in a minute." Maddie mentions. I go into my room, take off my makeup and throw on some sweatpants and a tee shirt before pulling my strawberry blonde hair into a bun and climbing into bed. Maddie climbs in a few minutes later and begin where we left off in pretty little liars. It's kind of our thing. We watch it together whenever we're feeling down.
-----------
"I heard them talking dad's moving back out." Daphne tells Maddie and I as we all sit on my bed. Maddie's scrolling through her iPad being anti social as normal.

"So much for your stupid wish that everything would go back to the way it was." Maddie says looking up from her iPad.

"So what now?" Daphne questions.

"Now it's the three of us against the world." I declare wrapping my arms around my sisters who are seated on either side of me.
------------
"Hey Scarlett." I greet when I come downstairs to get a snack.

"Harper. How are you?" Scarlett asks pulling me into a hug.

"I'm alright but I've actually been meaning to talk to you. Where's my mom?"

"She's talking to Bucky in the other room but I think I know what you're going to say."

"I really don't think you do."

"Deacon told me...he's Maddie's dad too."

"Ok maybe you did know."

"How do you feel about it?"

"I don't know."

"Well I guess I have another cousins now."

"I've got to go but we seriously need to hang out more. I miss spending time with you."

"Got a hot date?"

"Actually kind of. Landon and I are going out." I tell her. "Could you tell my mom? We're not on the best terms right now."

"Sure." I pull Scarlett into another hug before I hear a knock on the door. I run over to it and open it revealing my handsome boyfriend. I greet him with a kiss and wrap my arms around his neck before pulling away.

"Ready?" Landon asks.

"Yeah but what are we doing?" I question.

"It's a surprise." I roll my eyes and follow Landon out to his truck. He opens my door for me like he always does and I notice a picnic basket sitting in the backseat.

"You're literally the best boyfriend." I laugh.

"And you're the most beautiful girl I've ever seen." My stomach does flips. I literally love Landon so much. I press my lips to his.

Landon brings me to a beautiful open field and lays out a blanket for us to sit on. He lays out the food he brought and it's literally all my favorites. Donuts from 5 Daughters, fresh fruit, Oreos, pretzels and Nutella, my signature salad from my favorite restaurant in town.

"I literally love you so much." I tell him when I'm done eating.

"Love you too." Landon replies.

"Thank you. Not just for this picnic but for everything. I don't think I could have gotten through the last few months without you."

"That's what I'm here for." I lean in and press my lips to Landon's once again. He's just perfect I can't help myself. Without pulling away Landon lays me down and moves so he's hovering over me. I wrap my legs around his torso as our kiss becomes more intense. I attempt to pull his shirt off but he stops me.

"What?" I question.

"Someone might see us." Landon explains.

"There's no one around for miles." I tell him pulling his face back down to mine. I try to pull his shirt off again and this time he lets me. I'll never get sick of those abs. I roll us over so I'm on top and pull away before taking off my shirt as well. Landon puts his hands on my ass as I lean back down to continue kissing him.
