"Did I just hear you call mom a bitch?" I ask Maddie when I walk into her room.

"Yeah. Why do you care?" She snaps.

"Look Daphne and I are the only ones who know exactly what you're going through so stop being a brat. You have no reason to be rude to me." I spit back.

"You're right I'm sorry."

"You know mom doesn't deserve that crap either so stop being snotty." I scold my little sister before storming out of her bedroom.
----------
"Mom what happened? Where's Maddie? Is she alright?" I start freaking out once I arrive at the hospital.

"She went to that Juliette Barnes concert and bumped her head." My mom explains.

"Come on girls. Let's go home." Teddy tells us when Maddie gets back from where ever the nurse had brought her. She's in a wheelchair.

"I've got some paperwork I've got to finish up here but you can call me if you want to talk okay?" Mom tells Maddie as Teddy pushes her down the hallway in her wheelchair.
----------
"Hey I heard Maddie was in the hospital. Is she alright?" Landon asks the next day at school.

"Yeah she's alright... I hope. Physically she's fine but I just worry about her mentally."

"Do you want to go to the the Bluebird tonight? It's writers night. You could play that new one you've been working on." He offers.

"Yeah sure."

"Can I come I've been having Harper withdrawal." Dallas asks.

"Of course. Invite Abby and Kamri too." I tell her.

"Pick you up at 6?" Landon suggests. I nod.
--------------
"And now for a house favorite. Miss Harper Claybourne." Kyle the Writer's night coordinator announces.

"Hi everyone. I've had a rough go of it lately and the only way I know how to work through it is by writing so here's one of the products." I speak beginning to play my guitar. The lyrics flow straight from my heart and I know that this'll help me feel better. I just know it. It has to.

"That was beautiful babe. Do you feel any better?" Landon asks me pulling me into a tight hug.

"Maybe a little."
----------
"You've been reading a lot lately about my next guest. Please welcome to our show Ms. Rayna Jaymes." The talk show host tells her audience. Teddy, my sisters, and I walk as mom hugs the host. "So great to see you Rayna. How are you?"

"Great to be here. I'm wonderful thank you." Mom replies.

"You look beautiful as always. I know you have been so busy working on a new album, you've been on a major tour with Juliette Barnes, are you having fun? Are you completely exhausted?"

"Oh it is a lot. I mean we've been really busy but boy we've been having such a good time with this tour and it's a great one and you know since we're in New York we're gonna be here next month so y'all need to come check it out." The audience cheers loudly.

"Probably have a lot of takers to that invitation. Alright so meanwhile  you've been doing all of this in the midst of getting a divorce from your husband Teddy Conrad. That must be very stressful."

"Well you know it is. When it comes down to having something like that happen in your life my experience is no different from anybody else's. You know the only difference for me is that I'm having to do it publicly." Mom explains before Teddy turns off the tv.

"We were watching that!" Maddie and I tell Teddy angrily.

"You girls don't need to be watching that. Besides it's getting late. Off to bed." Teddy replies.
