Chapter 32

    At the BBQ my old friend Lance came with his girlfriend Courtney. She noticed my belly and looks at me to make sure it okay to rub. I nob for approval and she starts talk to the baby.

"Lance and I have been trying to get pregnant for a year now. No luck." She says and choke on my water in shock.

"Oh I'm so sorry." I say.
"For?" She says.
"I don't know." I say feeling awkward. I get up and get some more food and she stay at the table.

After the BBQ Xander and I clean up and have a fire outside with just him, Ella and I. We make s'mores and tell each other how our day went.
"My day went pretty well everyone was rubbing my belly." I say they laugh.
"I wanna go next." Ella says so Xander lets her. "My day went really good I made a new friend her name is Rachel." She says. Xander and I act very interested so she tells us what Rachel looks like and all about her. Then finally it's Xander's turn.
"My day went alright could've been better." He says then everything so silent and we watch the fire fade out. We head inside and Ella takes a shower and heads to bed all excited to see her new friend at school.
Xander and I also take a shower then head to bed.

The next morning a random number texts me, I find out it's Courtney and she wants to hang out so after dropping off Ella at school I meet her at a cafe down the road from the elementary school.

She orders be something before I even get there and it takes delicious. I go over to where she's sitting and she hands me a gift bag. Filled with baby stuff, from clothes to diapers to head bands and room decor and much much more. I thank her and we just talk and talk about how life is and to find out we're pretty alike. After our drinks we go back to my place until Ella needs to be picked up from school. Arriving to my house we go up to the nursery and and put the clothes away and decorates up. The nursery looks nothing like I had planned but it's even better.

3:30pm comes around and I'm late to pick up Ella so Courtney and I get into the car real fast and go get her. She's sitting in the office with one teacher once she sees me she's upset with me.

"You forgot about me."she says.
"I sure didn't, I was busy." I say but her attitude won't change. So we head to the car where Courtney was waiting for us. She gets in and buckles and I do the same. We head back home and Xander pulls in just before us. He gets out then we do he grabs the groceries he picked up after work. We all head in and I start making dinner. We're having fried chicken. I finish cooking and we eat.
