Fourteen years ago, in the hidden village of Konohagakure, a pair of vicious Tailed Beasts brought havoc to the streets. The demons smashed through buildings, demolishing homes and taking lives. Many fought against it, but none prevailed.
Until the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, came in and helped defeat the beasts. However, it came with a price.
To end the beasts' reign over his village, Minato had to give his own life in order to seal the demons into two infants. Twins, even. Half of the Nine-Tailed Fox was sealed into the older boy, while its entire Ten-Tailed counterpart was contained within the slightly younger girl.
Their mother knew that, should the two beasts be allowed to live together, only havoc would be ensured. Thus, with the last bit of chakra she had left in her, she place a hand upon her youngest and had her transported to the Village Hidden by Mist, Kirigakure.
It is there that she had been mistreated by all, then founded by one man with an impossible goal with a small boy tagging along with him. He raised and trained her until she surpassed both his and his partner's abilities through her own strength.
And it is the death of this man that truely starts Saruko's journey as a ninja.
