A hard knock was heard outside his office door, forcing the Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, to turn his head up from his work and call out to the noise. "Come in."
At the sound of his gruff voice, the door opened up to release a wave of death, a very familiar redhead following directly after. Her aura alone was enough to put the Hokage on edge, and the look on her face made the man slightly nervous.
"I don't need a babysitter, Old Man." Saruko sharply tossed an item toward him. The Hokage caught the object, glancing down to see one of his ANBU masks speckled with blood over the animalistic design. "Much less a bodyguard."
"And just why did you bring this to me, Saruko?" The redhead simply crossed her arms, a stern look on her face.
"Make me a ninja, and put me on Team Seven." The Hokage blinked in surprise, setting the mask down in his desk as he scanned Saruko's body for any form of hesitation. And there was not a speck anywhere around her.
"Why the sudden change of heart, might I ask. Did Naruto and the others suddenly make you value this village?" Saruko sneered and unconsciously froze the floor underneath her feet, leeching out in long strokes.
"Don't insult me, ya old bat. I couldn't care less about this village, or the people infecting it. I realized that the only way to achieve my goal is to become a leaf Genin."
The Hokage stroked his beard before nodding, reaching down into one of his desk's drawers. "Very well then. From this moment on, you will be the fourth member of Team Seven as an official Genin." He pulled out a Leaf Village plaque and tossed it to her. Saruko snagged the black ribbon out the air, immediately fastening it around her upper left thigh with a nod towards the village leader.
"Thank you. I will take my leave for now. We will talk about certain arrangements later." With a single sign, she teleported out of the Hokage's office and into a training ground. As soon as her feet touched the ground, she all but collapsed while clutching the side of her head.
Ever since she finished her lunch, Saruko's mind had been pounded with several abusive and manipulative expressions from Yukiharu. And finally, she can take a short 'break' from being strong.
"'I couldn't care less about this village or the people infecting it?' Are you shitting me?! Just last night you went off on a killing spree to save the infectious lives in this deadbeat village! Am I wrong?" Yukiharu bellowed, among other things. One reoccurring one was the thought about a single causality out of a hundred plus.
The baby.
'He was so little...so young and ignorant. He had a life ahead of him, and I...' Saruko sat on the ground, curling herself up into a ball and flinching as Yukiharu snarled.
"So you killed a baby, so what? You've killed children before, haven't ya? What the hell makes this one any different than the others?"
"I don't know..." She muttered, staring at the grass between her feet.
"Like hell you don't know! There is obviously some damn reason behind it or you wouldn't be acting like--!"
"I said I don't fucking know, alright!! Why don't you just go away and leave me in peace, you damn fox!" Saruko yelled out as she threw up a chakra wall, blocking off the demon's voice for a bit.
"Saruko?"
"What!?" The redhead turned and snapped at the new voice, revealing a slightly concerned Sasuke. The raven haired boy looked over her tired and pain filled figure as she sighed. "Sorry 'bout that"
