Shining's POV: I ride my horse, Nightmare, to the Pokémon showcase, passing through Alola as a shortcut, but before Nightmare can leave Alola, her shiny deep red hooves are frozen in place, and when I look down, I see a wild Alolan Vulpix looking up at me with Lillipup eyes, so I sigh and dismount Nightmare as Ash and Rotom Dex come over and Ash helps me so I don't slip and roll my delicate ankle like I did last time I dismounted Nightmare but my ankle slipped last time and I strained it. Ash sees Sakura sitting on my shoulder after he helps me down and asks Rotom Dex as he turns to face Rotom Dex, "hey Rotom Dex, what Pokémon is Sakura now that she's evolved?" Rotom Dex flies over and tuns its back to Sakura and I, then a sudden flash startles Sakura as Rotom Dex says, "picture taken. Espeon." I call out Blazing Beauty, Sylvia, Icy, Aqua, Flora, Luna, and Snowdrop, then they all land on the ground in a crouch, but Blazing Beauty and Snowdrop land with their knees bent, and once they all straighten up, Rotom Dex takes a picture of each of them and says in order, "picture taken. Delphox, Sylveon, Glaceon, Vaporeon, Leafeon, Umbreon, Gardevoir." I say as I let out the rest of my Pokémon, "hold up a second, Rotom Dex." Rotom Dex looks at them all in surprise and then takes a picture of Electra, Koneko, Latias, Phoenix, Champ, Shimmer, Ashe, and my other Pokémon one by one then says as it turns to look at me, "you have a lot of Pokémon." I respond, "yeah, yeah, I know. And each one of them are treated no different than my pet cats, Garfield, an Orange Tabby, Brownie, a Siamese, and her brother, Artemis, also a Siamese." The Vulpix hops onto my shoulder after bending its knees and bats one of its icy blue paws at a stray lock of my dark purple tipped golden blonde hair that goes all the way down to my knee, catching my attention. It jumps down as Sakura's eyes glow blue, indicating the use of her Psychic move. Ash asks Rotom Dex once he notices Sakura's eyes glowing blue, "hey Rotom Dex, what move is that?" Rotom Dex says once it observes Sakura's eyes, "the move Sakura is using is Psychic, which is obviously a Psychic-type move because of its name. It allows her to hold or levitate someone or something, and when Espeon uses Psychic, its eyes will glow blue or red. When powered up with a Psychium Z, it turns into Shattered Psyche, the Psychic-type Z move." Ash says as he looks at Sakura, whose eyes are just now returning to their normal purple color, "hey Rotom, I wanna hear how you describe Sakura in the Rotom Dex." Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Sakura, "Espeon, the Sun Pokémon, a Psychic-type. It predicts its opponent's moves and detects air currents using its body hairs." Ash says as Rotom Dex returns its screen to normal, "so Sakura evolved into Espeon. Cool!" I say as Sylvia wraps one of her ribbon-like feelers around my arm, "don't forget about Sylvia." Rotom Dex asks as a confused emoji appears on its screen, "why is Sylvia doing that?" I say, "just let Ash hear how you describe Sylvia in the Rotom Dex." Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Sylvia, "Sylveon, the Intertwining Pokémon, a Fairy-type. Sylveon affectionately wraps its ribbon-like feelers around its trainer's arm as they walk together." Ash asks as he gently runs his hand from the base of Icy's neck down to the base of her tail, causing my Glaceon to purr, "and what about Icy?" Rotom Dex pulls up the picture it took of Icy and says, "Glaceon, the Fresh Snow Pokémon, an Ice-type. Glaceon freezes the surrounding air by controlling its body temperature." Aqua says as she waves her fish tail up and down, "Vapor, Vapor!" Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Aqua, "Vaporeon, shiny form, the Bubble Jet Pokémon, a Water-type. Vaporeon is made up of molecules similar to water, allowing it to melt and vanish." Flora says as she places one of her rich brown paws down in front of her, "Leaf, Leafeon!" Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Flora, "Leafeon, the Verdant Pokémon, a Grass-type. Because Leafeon's cells are like a plant, it performs photosynthesis." Luna says as her blue rings cast a blue glow on a nearby building, "Umbreon!" Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Luna, "Umbreon, shiny form, the Moonlight Pokémon, a Dark-type. The rings in its fur glow when the moon shines on them." The Vulpix manages to knock my bag off my back, causing it to fall on the ground as one of the Luxury Balls rolls out and the Vulpix touches one of its pale turquoise paws to the capsule, causing the Luxury Ball to spring open and shoot out a red light that encases the Vulpix then the Luxury Ball snaps shut and shakes three times before clicking. I pick up my bag and dust it off then put it back on then lean down and pick up the Vulpix's Luxury Ball and Ash says in shock, "that Vulpix did the same thing Snowy did after the egg hatched and Lillie accidentally misaimed Snowy's PokéBall." I ask as Blazing Beauty melts the ice around Nightmare's deep red hooves, "wait what?" Rotom Dex says as I return all my Pokémon except Sakura and Sylvia to their Luxury Balls, "Ash is right. And if Lillie ever decides to evolve Snowy, she'll get a Ninetales." Rotom Dex pulls up a picture of Alolan Ninetales and says, "Ninetales, Alola form, the Fox Pokémon, an Ice- and Fairy-type.(insert additional information here)" I say as I swing back up into Nightmare's saddle and grab hold of her reins as Sakura and Sylvia jump up with me, Sylvia's reason mainly being due to discomfort from having her ribbon-like feeler wrapped around my arm while she's standing on the ground and I'm up in Nightmare's saddle, then she removes her top ribbon-like feeler from my arm and replaces it with one of the ribbon-like feelers under the bow on her neck, "oh. Makes sense to me. Sorta." Just as I'm about to leave, Ash asks as he stumbles a bit before running over to Nightmare, "hey! Shining, why are you leaving so soon?" I say after a quick rant in Japanese under my breath, "I have to hurry if I want to register for the rookie class showcase. That's why I'm leaving so soon." Rotom Dex asks as a confused emoji appears on its screen, "rookie class showcase?" Ash asks as Nightmare gets ready to speed into a gallop, "so you're gonna become a Pokémon performer like Serena?" I say while accidentally using Japanese, "hai." When I notice Ash's confused look, I correct myself, "yes. And what I said just a minute ago, it means yes in Japanese. I'm from Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan, so it's only logical that Japanese is my home language." Ash asks as Latias bursts out of her Luxury Ball and hovers in the air beside Nightmare, "you caught Latias?! Cool! Hey Rotom, I wanna hear how you describe Latias in the Rotom Dex!" Rotom Dex says as it pulls up the picture it took of Latias, "Latias, the Eon Pokémon, a Dragon- and Psychic-type. (insert additional info here)." Ash says as Nightmare starts running, "good luck with your first showcase!" I call as Nightmare somehow leaves a team of Mantine uninjured with her hooves, "thanks Ash!" Soon, Nightmare slows to a trot in front of the gates but when Snowflake shakes her Luxury Ball, I let her out while saying, "come out, Snowflake!" Snowflake cries as she appears and shakes herself off, "Vulpix!" I wait patiently for the others to arrive and once they've arrived, the gates open and Pierre, the host, says as my Pokémon and I dismount Nightmare, "welcome, mademoiselles! Mademoiselle Star, please follow me to the stable, where your horse can rest during the showcase." Nightmare flips her reins over her head and I grab hold of them and walk with Pierre as Nightmare trails close behind then once we reach the stables, Pierre opens the door with Nightmare's name engraved on a golden nameplate and I lead Nightmare inside as she tosses her sideswept forelock to reveal the white sun on her forehead then I move Nightmare's reins back over her head so that the massaging handgrip rests against the back of her black neck and I say as I walk out after Nightmare lays down and Pierre closes the door behind me "Nightmare is an Arabian, I hope you know, and thank you so much for including an accommodation for Nightmare." Pierre says as we walk back to the gates, "you are quite welcome, mademoiselle Star. But I have one question." I say as Sakura and Snowflake jump up on my shoulders while Sylvia switches the ribbon-like feeler wrapped around my arm from the one underneath the bow on her neck to the one underneath the bow at the base of her right ear, "shoot." Pierre asks, "is the Giratina floating behind you your only legendary Pokémon?" I respond with a shake of my head, causing my hair to spin wildly as a result, as I take Latias', Koneko's, Niagara's, Kage's, Sage's, Shaymin's, Macy's, and Faith's Luxury Balls off my belt, "nope. I also have Latias. And Koneko, AKA Mew, a mythical, plus Suicune who I nicknamed Niagara and Shaymin, also a mythical who I nicknamed Holly, Ho-Oh, who I nicknamed Miyazaki, oh, and Virizion, nicknamed Sage, and Mesprit, nicknamed Macy, along with a Cosmoem I nicknamed Faith. Latias has been on my team longer than Koneko, Niagara, Kage, Holly, Miyazaki, Virizion, Mesprit, and Faith have. In fact, Latias was the very first legendary Pokémon I caught. I first saved her from a Pokémon poacher, but when she was healed up and ready to go back where she belonged out in the wild, she didn't want to leave, so I let her stay and she became my very first legendary. She's half Dragon, half Psychic, so is her brother, Latios. Onyx's story for how he got Latios is exactly the same as my story for how I got Latias. Onyx and I started saving up money to buy Latiosite and Latiasite, then once we got the two respective mega stones for our Eon Pokémon, I made Latios and Latias both identical ribbon scarves, but before I put the mega stones on the ribbon scarf, Onyx and I put the ribbon scarves around the necks of our Eon Pokémon to make sure they would fit then we held the back ends together in our left hand and grabbed the proper mega stone for the corresponding Eon Pokémon, and since Latios and Latias were laying down on the carpet floor, it was easy to slide the ends through the mega stones, which our father drilled a hole through the center from the top to the bottom so we could secure the ribbon scarves with the mega stones because I had asked him to, then, using the magic from my cave crystal bracelet, I made the holes smaller so the mega stones wouldn't slip off and allow the ribbon scarves to fall off, then their ribbon scarves were complete. My giant Absol, Gardevoir, and Lucario along with Onyx's Gallade, Absol, and Lucario also have ribbon scarves matching the color of their primary type with swirls matching the color of their secondary type. Latios and Latias have Dragon-type blue, specifically dark blue, ribbon scarves with Psychic-type pink swirls, Leia, my Lucario, since she's half Fighting, half Steel, her ribbon scarf, which is secured around her neck with Lucarionite, is Fighting-type red with Steel-type gray swirls, Darkness, who's a pure Dark-type, has a little bracelet hanging from his horn complete with Absolite, Snowdrop, my Gardevoir, who's half Psychic, half Fairy, has a golden bracelet secured around her wrist with Gardevoirite, and Gallade, who's half Psychic, half Fighting, has a Psychic-type pink ribbon scarf with Fighting-type red swirls secured around his neck with Galladeite. The rest of my Pokémon have collars corresponding to the color of their type, and since Blazing Beauty, my Delphox, is half Fire, half Psychic, her collar is striped Fire-type orange and Psychic-type pink. My Primarina Shimmer's collar is striped with Water-type blue and Fairy-type light pink because she's a dual Water-/Fairy-type." I call as I throw the Luxury balls into the air after pressing the capsules, "Latias, Koneko, Kage, Niagara, Faith, Holly, Miyazaki, Sage, Macy, come out and say hi!" Latias appears in the air as a blue light shifts around until it gets into her shape, the same happening with Kage, Niagara, Holly, Miyazaki, Faith, Macy, and Virizion, except they appear on the ground, minus Koneko, Macy, Miyazaki, and Faith, as a blue light shifts around until it gets into their shapes, then the lights disappear as the Luxury Balls and single Cherish Ball start falling, so I swipe them out of the air once I can reach them, then let out the rest of my Pokémon, and put their Luxury Balls and single Cherish Ball back on my belt. Once inside, all the girls and I are settled in identical pods then I quickly get started on making the outfits for my Pokémon. I decide to use Electra for my first showcase and say as the others return to their Luxury Balls, "Electra, you're going to do this with me and help me win my first princess key." Electra cries happily as she hops on her large rounded lightning bolt shaped tail, "Rai!" The showcase soon starts and together, Electra and I walk down the runway and once Serena, Shauna, Jessiline, and I advance to the freestyle performance, I call as I raise one hand, the nails of which are painted to look like purple galaxies with white stars, into the air as soon as Electra looks up at me, "Electra, Electric Terrain, let's go!" Electra cries as a small electro ball forms beneath her feet and soon spreads electricity across the stage, "Rai, Raichu!" I command next as Electric Terrain strengthens her Electric moves, "now use Psybeam straight up!" Electra opens her mouth and uses Psybeam. I command next as Electra crouches, "alright, jump and use Thunderbolt!" Electra springs into the air and cries as she becomes surrounded by electricity, "Rai, Rai, Rai, Rai, Raichuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!" I command as she looks up at me once she lands "use Electro Ball!" Electra once again obeys and jumps into the air as an Electro Ball forms at the tip of her large rounded lightning bolt shaped tail and launches it, then it's time for Electra and I to start dancing, and I count softly in French, "un, deux, trois, quatre!" Electra taps her paw on the stage as I count then springs up and lands on my shoulder then jumps again and twirls in the air, landing on her forepaws, then jumps again and lands on her hind paws then uses Thunderbolt straight up as she begins to dance ballet in time with me, causing the audience to go crazy and roar with cheers, and once it's time to vote, Shauna and I receive the most votes, but my family, my fellow Disciples of Shinjuku, and Nebula all illuminate their glow casters purple to earn me my first win and princess key. After the showcase, I walk over to them and hug them all with a thank you, and they all hug back. Niagara asks softly as she gently nudges my arm to get my attention, "will I be in the third showcase?" I respond as I turn around and put my hands on my knees as I bend them(my knees), "if you want. I think everyone would be amazed I have a legendary dog on my team, especially you, Niagara." I place one hand on her forehead and rub gently, causing her red eyes to drift shut.
