Chapter 3

A22 POV

I held onto Lynnlee while she cried in my arms. I let her have her moment because I knew that getting back into the organization this fast and immidiatly having something go wrong was something that was almost tramitizing to her.

Our last mission is the reason why we are both like this now. Broken. We haven't spoken about that last mission since it happened. The organization knows what happened to her because she told them but my side no one knows about. I know about all of the cruel things that happened during that mission. Things that Lynnlee had no clue about.

I didn't want her to know about any of it but now that its starting...I'm going to have to tell her.

Originally we were suppose to go to a run down mansion in the forest. There was a report of a small girl running around covered in blood that was living there on her own. We were suppose to investigate. But things took a turn when....

"No don't think about that shit. You'll only get yourself hurt more." I told myself outloud but quiet enough so that Lynnlee didn't hear me.

You would think that being a secret agent for an organization with lots of money that saves children would make you feel amazing but a lot of the time it does the exact opposite.

In some cases, like mine and Lynnlee's it did somewhat of the opposite. When we first got involved it was great because we were saving hundreds of children but when our last mission happened it turned to the opposite side of it.

Not a day goes by that I don't think about that mission. Everything about it should've set us off. The way that little girl wasn't dead from all of the cuts and blood loss. The fact that she never slept. Even the creepy ass bear she always had with her. But the biggest one was that she was always calling someone else's name to come play with her.

The names still hunt my dreams and my nightmares. Those are the names I will never forget.

Lynnlee had the pleasure of meeting them first. She tends to want to just jump right into the missions right when she gets them. 'You never know what your saving the kids from but the sooner the better.' That's what she always told me. I always told her that she shouldn't do anything without watching and collecting evidence first.

She never listens. Maybe if she did then neither of us would have...

"God dammit stop thinking about that shit!" This time I must have said it too loud because Lynnlee woke up.

She sat up and rubbed her eyes while looking around. Yawning she said, "Wanna come inside for some food?" She looked over to me with sleepy eyes and a tired face. I smiled and nodded. She smiled back and opened up the door to her side. I did the same.

I grabbed onto my bag and my keys and shut the door. She was already at the front door waiting for me. My pace quickened a bit so she wouldn't have to wait long.

Once we were in she looked around for Sally and I set my things down. I have been in her house many times. The first few times I didn't know about her parents and she never talked about them so I had asked her what happened to them.

'They treated me and my siblings like shit. They abused me. They didn't let me go to school or read or even play. Even as a baby I couldn't do anything. They made me do dishes and laundry and fix things in the house that needed to be fixed. Then when my siblings were born they made me take care of them too. All those two did was cheat on each other and work. I remember the many times one of them would come home with another man or women. Sometimes I even wonder if my father was my real father because they cheat too much. I don't care what happened to them. All I know is that I get $2,000 a month in a bank account and right now I'm set for life.'

After that I never asked her again.

Lynnlee came back after a while but she brought Sally along with her. I smiled and greeted Sally. I knew who she really was. She was the women who had first started the organization. Not many people know where she is now a days but me and Lynnlee know.

"Have a wonderful night Sally." She laughed a beautiful sounding laugh and responded by saying "My boy it's five in the morning. But if your saying enjoy your sleep, well trust me I will. Now if you'll excuse me I must go home and rest my old bones. Goodbye and good day." I laughed as she did her signature wave off.

Now it was just me and Lynnlee. Her back was turned towards the door. I went up behind her and hugged her from the back. "So where does your mother think your at tonight?"

I laughed and said "My best friends house. Benson or agent M17." She giggled and said, "Of course. Well what do we do now?"

I thought for a moment. We could do a lot of things. "We could watch TV. We could cuddle. We could..." The sounds of stomachs growling made me remember that it was five in the morning and we were hungry. "Eat."

She gave me a sly smile and said "Eat what?" Then a wink. 😉 (<-- Creepy)

I laughed and whispered into her ear. "A nice big, thick and juicy...apple." She pulled back and slapped my shoulder playfully.

She pulled away from me and walked into the kitchen. As she was pulling an apple out from the bottom of the fridge I got a perfect view of her butt. And boy way it perfect. The view and the butt. She stood back up and threw an apple at me. I caught it perfectly in my hand and took a bite.

"It's sour." I said and she giggled and said "Well that's just too bad. So eat your apple and shut it. Im going to go take a shower then fix the kids their breakfast and get them ready for school. You can hang out if you want or you can do the chores." And with that she went down the hall and shut the bathroom door.

I sighed loudly and went to the kitchen to do the dishes. "I hate dishes but man do I love that girl." Quietly I chuckled to myself and started loading the dishes into the dishwasher.
