Chapter 14

Dream over

I woke up next to an empty spot where Jay was the night before. It was only me in my room in my bed. I wasn't on a cloud or in a meadow or by a big rock or a pond. No instead I was back in my bedroom where I had been all night.

It only took a few seconds for the memory of my dream started to come back to me. I looked around. I wanted to find something to test it all on.

Suddenly my clock started going off. That right I have work today. My hand began to reach over to press the snooze button when I remembered my powers. One word came into my head again.

"Snooze." Suddenly the button clicked down and the sound stopped. "Woah." I looked down at my hands then at the clock then back to my hands again.

Jay then walked into the room. "Hey, beautiful. You have to get to work. Want anything for breakfast?"

I only stared at the clock and my hands.

"Uhhh you okay there Lynnlee?" I snapped myself out of my own trance and nodded. "So did you want anything to eat?"

"Yeah. I want a donut." Suddenly a donut appears in my hand. It was a glazed donut. My favorite.

"What the fuck just happened?!"

I stood up from the bed and made my way over to Jay.

"Hold this." I shoved the donut into his hand and ran into the living-room. Jeff was still passed out on the couch. Jay came out and said, "You're still in your underwear you know." I nodded and grabbed onto the couch. I lifted it up with one hand.

Jeff woke up and started freaking out but before he could figure out why he was in the air he fell onto the ground and did a face plant. I set the couch down and asked if he was okay. All he did was groan. "Yeah, he's fine."

Jay looked completely scared and was still standing in the hallway entrance. A few words came to mind. "Clothing on." Suddenly I was wearing new clothing. I had on a pair of overalls and a blue t-shirt.

"Awesome. Do you need a ride home, Jay?" He shook his head not saying a word.

"Alright well, I'm going to take my donut and go since I have to be to work soon. Let Sally know ill be back around noon to eat. And make sure he doesn't do anything stupid before you leave. Oh and feed Smile. Just ask Jeff what he eats and if he doesn't answer feed Jeff to Smile."

"I DON'T WANT TO BE EATEN!" Jeff jumped up from the floor and into the corner. I shot a glare at him and said, "Then clean the house and feed your dog." I quickly put on a cute school girl smile and said bye.

Before leaving I took one of the magic controlling pills and gave Jay a kiss. Then hopped into my truck and drove to work. Today should be interesting. I just hope I'm on tree duty. I need to be away from people and in the woods until I know how to control my newfound power.

Pulling into work I noticed a few new guys. Joe and Steve must have retired and didn't tell anyone.
