Chapter 7

FLASHBACK

I was only 13 when I went for the test. They tested me for my intelligence and my strength, agility, being able to use weapons. Everything. I passed each test with flying colors.

I sat in the cold metal chair for what seemed like forever while I waited for the results of the test. My muscles ached and I felt extremely tired. The night before I hadn't gotten much sleep because I was too excited to come here.

Finally, a man in a black suit came out. His skin was almost completely white. His eyes were such a dark brown that they looked almost black and set me on edge. Something about his eyes doesn't seem right but I don't tell him.

He hands me a folder and a bag. "Congratulations child you have passed the test. Welcome to the Peace Protection Program." I took the bag from him and the folder and felt his cold hands. They sent chills up my spine. But I was too happy to even notice them.

While I smiled eagerly he handed me another folder. "This has all of the information that you will need for your very first mission. Read it and save children. Don't take too long or else there might not be any more children to save no go child." I didn't hesitate to leave.

I quickly made my way into the elevator and slumped down to the floor. I know that man. That was the first time I had seen him but I knew him somehow. But either way, something told me that he was bad.

The elevator stopped onto another floor and I stood up. A boy about my age walked in then pressed for the doors to close. "Bottom floor?" He nodded.

I held out my hand and said, "My name is Lynnlee and I just got my first mission. How about you?" He took my hand and smiled at me telling me, "I just joined too. I have my first mission and my name is Jay. It's short for Jacob."

I smiled back at the brown haired boy. His eyes seemed to sparkle when I smiled. This only made me smile more. "Hey, do you want to be my partner?" He asked me. I thought for a second but eventually nodded my head.

A year later we became boyfriend and girlfriend but still partners. We went on missions together. The organization didn't like it at first but eventually, they accepted it because we got more done that way. Now they let anyone who wants a partner have one. All because two kids wanted to be partners the day they joined the organization.

FLASHBACK OVER

I sat down in the same chair that I had sat in many years ago. The same chair that Jay also sat in minutes before me. They took the twins both in at once.

This way they could assess their ability's together and apart.

I felt a hand on my shoulder and I looked to see that it was Jay's hand. "Don't worry. They will do just fine."

I shook my head and said, "That's not what I'm worried about. I'm worried that they will end up in some horrible situation like we did. I don want them to go through something like that. I'm also worried about something else. Or someone I should say."
