"We'll get you one, somehow." Spencer assured her. He went on ahead. The lab was white walled and blue tiled. There was a massive screen, a cluttered table, and a refrigerator. "Hey, why not look through my eyes?" Spencer asked his cousin. He didn't feel any difference, but he knew she now saw what he saw. Spencer called out.
"Hello? Anyone home?" There was a clattering noise and a nervous voice answered back.
"Hi, um, I'll-I'll be right there." And Dr. Alphys walked towards him from deeper in the lab.
Katie realized something. 'You do know that I can do almost anything when I took in all the souls of my creations, right? I'm basically useless now. I can't do much. Tell the doc I need some help.' the girl told Spencer. And she couldn't really see what he was. It was blurred. But she could hear clearly.
"Hey Doctor." Spencer said, extending a hand towards her. She shook it, timidly. Spencer flashed her a smile, turning the charm up as far as he could go to try and get her help. "How are you today?" Spencer asked.
"I-I'm fine." Alphys replied. She seemed to remember the boy from when they called her in for Katie's unconsciousness. Spencer decided to get to the point.
"We really need your help, and we figured you were the only one capable of doing this. You see, Katie was pushed over a mental edge and, well, look at the front door to see what's happened." Spencer said. Alphys went over to the doorway and saw Katie. She jumped back in alarm.
"Tha-That's Katie?" She yelped. Spencer nodded gravely
"Isn't it rude to talk about people when they are right in front of you?" Katie asked, mentally. Alphys screamed at the surprising voice. She looked ready to faint.
"It's okay Doctor." Spencer said, catching her as her knees went weak. "Katie can't talk with her voice anymore, so she uses her mind. But she is still very much the same Katie. But the thing is, the form is a bit of a, ah..." Spencer paused looking for the proper word.
"Problem?" Katie supplied. Alphys was so weak in the knees that Spencer was now holding her.
"Yes, a problem. We figured, if anyone could make a new body for someone, it would be you." Spencer finished.
'Please forgive us. But I need to find a way to take a smaller form. We don't know anyone as good as you that could help us. So will you?' Katie asked as she looked at Alphys with sad puppy eyes. ' And maybe you need to see all of me.' The girl said as she pulled her head out of the doorway.
Alphys seemed to relax slightly. She put her feet underneath herself and stood. She walked outside to see Katie's full form.
"Um, I don't know how to make a body for someone that isn't dead. So, unless you wanna die..." She trailed off. Katie shook her head, as did Spencer. She looked around her, checking her. She flinched at her stats.
Katelyn May McEwen
LV: 1
HP: 300
ATK: 30
DEF: 20
Forgets what she can do sometimes. Might be able to take a human form and not know it. She needs to think.
Spencer leapt into the air, fist pumping.
"That's awesome news, check your stats Katie!" Spencer said, pointing.Katie looked at it and tilted her head. She closed her eyes and mist started to come out of the gill like flaps on her chest it completely covered her and when it was gone, she was in a human form. But her hair was green with red in it and when she opened her eyes, they were like how they were in her monster form. "Wow, that..." she pause, looking for the right word. Katie was luckily wearing clothes, just them looking like her body once did.
Spencer was shocked. That was so easy. How? How had they not done this earlier?
"Can we still hear each other's thoughts?" Spencer asked. He then ran over and hugged his cousin. Alphys was touched by the moment and wiped a tear from her eye.
'I don't know. Can we?' Katie thought as she was completely confused. She never got to meet Alphys and wanted to at least introduce herself. Once Spencer let go she smiled at him and walked to Alphys. " I believe I never met you when I was awake. I'm Katie. And.. well." She paused, and looked at Evelyn. All the other came out. "These are Ra Stella, Jade, Pepper, Galaxy, Nebula, Fuyu No Hi Okami, Flare, and Evelyn." Katie said naming every one of her pets. "Oh, and Shuriken." The girl said as she held her clawed hand up and the small four winged dragon landed on it. He squeaked at the Royal Scientist.
Spencer didn't hear his cousin's thoughts and was a bit relieved. Keeping his brain in one thought at a time was difficult. He knew if he was his normal scatterbrained self, then his cousin would likely get very, very confused. Spencer sighed, just happy that he had his cousin back. He was looking around the room when he spotted something. Under the screen in the front part of the lab, there was a black, slightly ovoid shaped box.
"No way!" Spencer shouted, sprinting over to the screen. He looked closely. Sure as hell, it was a Wii U. Then Spencer remembered something. Alphys played the Smash Bros. as well. He would have to broach the subject later. Spencer looked as Shuriken squeaked at Alphys. Spencer had never wanted a pet before, but now he definitely did. He also wanted a match with Alphys. Speaking of whom, the doctor had walked over to his shoulder, as he crouched at the game console.
Katie watched and then moved inside the Lab. She was happy that she could now go in places again. "That was weird. I still want to walk on all fours." The girl said shaking her arms. Shuriken moved from Katie's hand to her head. 'What are you two doing?' Katie thought looking at the two. Chara thought to Katie 'They can't hear you.'
Spencer looked up at the yellow skinned Dr.
"Who's your main?" Spencer asked. The whole room, except for Alphys was confused.
"Kamui, you?" She replied, her nervousness fading, as she finally found another nerd. Spencer smiled, finally finding another Smash Bros. nerd.
"Shoryuken!" Spencer shouted, answering Alphy's question. She grinned. "I wanna challenge you to a two stock, six minute, no items, best of five match, as soon as you're not busy." Spencer said dramatically. Alphys laughed nervously and accepted his challenge.
"C-C-Come back later tonight, we'll p-play then." Alphys said, nodding. Spencer grinned.
"Okay, so all things aside. How will we know when tonight is? And will anyone else be here?" Katie asked. She really hoped Sans would be here later. But she doubted it, after the confession to him wide awake, she would guess he would stay as far away from her as possible in a mountain.
"Well, we monsters tell time by looking at some of the few places that show the sun. And by judging the angle of the sunlight, we see the time. You'll know when it's night. Because that's when the MTT show starts." Alphys replied matter of factly.
"What's the MTT show?" Spencer asked. Alphys blushed red and looked embarrassed.
"It's just a TV show that is hosted by a robot named Mettaton. It's no big deal. But the monsters in Hotland love this show." Alphys said, avoiding the cousins' eyes.
"And you made the robot. He is just piloted by a ghost. Blooky's cousin right? Damn it! I need to stop doing that!" Katie self raged at herself, facepalming.
"You don't have much control over your powers yet. You need to calm down." Pepper said, and hearing a night fury talk should be a surprise; but Katie was so use to it she didn't care. She just lightly shook her head.
"I am a fool if I don't start to learn." Katie said. And Stella gave a teasing look.
"Well don't you have that skeleton lover that could help you?" the stellar dragon said, sarcasm dripping in every word. Katie then looked about ready to cry.
