Part 13 Helping A Spider

Spencer looked at his cousin, happy that she was happy. He picked her up and placed her on Evelyn's back. Spencer looked at Alphys.

"Thank you so much for everything." Spencer said, bowing slightly. He looked at Sans. "Do I get to be the ring bearer at the wedding?" Spencer asked teasing.

"I wouldn't be able to bear it. I'd ring your neck." Sans answered back. Spencer smiled, getting used to the crappy jokes. He turned back to the rest of the creatures.

"Whaddaya say we find a place to chill for a sec?" Spencer asked them. He wasn't tired, but he thought Katie just might be. They agreed and left the lab.

Katie didn't really stir at all from what was going on, but she was happy all the same. Someone cares for her, and they were not from the family. She had someone that she could be married to, and that of course was her dream to put a smile on her face.

The party wandered through the paths of Hotland, just seeing where they took them. Nothing much happened until they reached a little platform that held a bake sale. The goods looked, well good. And they were being sold by a cute spider girl to boot. But holy handgrenades were the goods expensive.

"9999 gold?!?" Spencer asked incredulously. He didn't know the exchange rate between gold and dollars, but still, that seemed absurd.

"The proceeds go to real spiders." She said, trying to entice him. Spencer had exactly 0 gold.

"Listen, I want to be able to help you, so little business tip. Try and sell a lot of goods for small amounts of money each. Not sell a small amount of goods for a lot of money. Where I'm from, the most successful food companies sell foods at very low prices. So, just keep that in mind." Spencer concluded. He was already blushing slightly, and wanted to help anyway he could. "What's your name, Miss?" Spencer asked.

"Muffet." She answered, a bit angrily. Spencer recoiled. "I got no money, but I wanna buy a donut. Anything I can do to help?" Spencer asked.

"Not unless you could heat up Snowdin so that spiders can walk through it, then no." Muffet said, bitterly. Spencer got a twinkle in his eye.

"As a matter of fact, I can." Spencer replied.

Stella huffed, and then shook her head.

"Why not ask one of the dragon with full body plume to get the spiders out." Then the dragon blink as everyone looked at the fluffiest dragon there.

"You did mention it." Ra said. Then looked at Muffet. "I could, seeing I could also keep them warm. But... what is your order Spencer?" The god dragon looked at the human. Chara was laughing and calling out Spencer's blush.

"Shut up, attack helicopter." Spencer shot back. "Besides Ra, I got this. I wanna practice my control over fire. You could come with me incase I screw up, but I think I got this." Spencer said confidently.

"How are you going to warm up Snowdin?" Muffet asked. In answer, Spencer's hand ignited. Muffet gasped, then giggled. "Ahuhuhu. You'd really do that?" She asked. Spencer nodded. She stood and immediately handed Spencer a donut.

"Thanks." Spencer said, taking a bite out of the donut. It tasted like freshly baked cobwebs. Which apparently was good enough for him. Muffet stood brushed off her table.

"So, you never told me why you want to warm Snowdin." Spencer said. She giggled and said.

"The spider clans have been separated by Snowdin for ages. The spiders in the ruins can't make it to Hotland. The cold kills them. That's where you come in." Muffet explained. Spencer nodded, still confused as to how Snowdin existed.

Katie stirred and sat up.

"Why don't I go goddess and teleport them here. And you practice you fire on me. I mean, I can do almost anything and nothing can hurt me." Katie said sleepily. She looked tired, but still awake. All the others looked at her. Then Chara whispered something in Katie's ear. The girl's eye snapped, and she looks around.

"Well, I already ate the donut, so I gotta hold up my end of the bargain." Spencer said, shooting Katie a glance that said 'Let me do this.' Spencer looked back at Muffet.

"So, let's go move some spiders then. Are we moving the ruin spiders to Hotland or the other way around?" Spencer asked. Muffet answered that they were moving the spiders to Hotland.

"Alright, let's head on over to the ruins." Spencer said. "Lead the way." Spencer said. Muffet grabbed Spencer's hand and started leading him away. Spencer blushed even more so.

'Oh~ What is this love I smell?' Katie asked in thoughts as all of her creatures said yes.

Spencer looked back. "You guys go on ahead, tell Alphys i'll be back later to fight. See the MTT show, I'm curious what that's all about." Spencer called to them. They nodded smirking. They knew what was going on. Spencer silently thanked them. Muffet led him through to a cave full of cobwebs.

"This is my home." Muffet said. Spencer looked around. It was covered in cobwebs, and quite literally crawling with spiders. Spencer looked up and saw many massive spiders. Three days ago, he would have been terrified. But after gaining his powers, they inspired no fear. Besides, Muffet was a spider, they were her friends.

"Oh really?" Katie whispered in his mind. He jumped. Muffet looked confused, but he just said he had tripped over something.

"What are you doing? Get out of my head!" Spencer thought furiously. Katie laughed, and withdrew.

"Do you like my house, dearie?" Muffet asked her guest. Spencer got little chills when she said that.

"Yes, it's very nice." He answered "Very dark though." Spencer added. It was true, he was in near pitch blackness as the pair went deeper into the cave. Muffet giggled.

"Ahuhuhu, we spiders see fine in near blackness. I can even see the color of your sweater." She suddenly let go of his hand. Spencer was stranded now, in this sea of darkness. Spencer called out for Muffet but she didn't respond except for giggling that came from everywhere. Spencer eventually gave up and lit his hand on fire to see anything. He couldn't see anything for a few seconds, blinded by the light. Then his eyes adjusted.

Katie had taken her monster form just to mess with her cousin. Then she walked back to the lab. As soon as she took her human form and she noticed a robot next to Alphys. Katie looked at the robot as Alphys noticed the human.

"What are you doing?" Katie asked and the robot turned. It confused the girl as it rolled quickly over to her and pushed her over to the nervous monster.

"You never told me you knew a cute little monster like her!" The robot said as katie gave Alphys a very confused look.

"U-Ummm... Katie, this is Mettaton." The yellow monster stammered and Katie looked over to the robot. She quickly turned around and held her hand out.

"So I get to meet the Great Mettaton. I bet you Met a ton of girls." Katie said as a groan was heard behind the robot along with laughs. Katie also snorted and the machines screen went blank.

" So you are a pun monster?" Mettaton asked. Katie shook her head, laughing at her pun.

"No, but I could say I'm dating Sans the pun king. I am the queen." Katie said with a sweet smile and added, " I did give him a run for his Pun-ey." And yet again a groan with laughter was heard.
