Katie was so sore when she awoke that she didn't even move. But she could smell something. She could tell she wasn't in the throne room anymore. But she didn't know where. How could a place hold her full sized form?

Spencer awoke in a red and white room. Looking around he saw a flower painting, a lamp, a rug and a wardrobe. He was propped up on pillows, and was very sore. Looking under the covers, he was covered in bandages on his chest and arms. He looked like a mummy. He could feel cuts on his chest and the bandages on his arms were pink with blood. His doorknob twitched and Spencer croaked,

"Come in."

"Where am I?" Katie thought as she rested for a little while. Chara answered her, which surprised her.

"You are at Mom's." Chara said, and this info surprised her more. She thought to herself, 'Didn't Toriel say we were to never return? And what about Sans?'

The door opened and Muffet entered. She looked relieved that he was awake. She held flowers in her bottom two hands. She ran over and hugged him. Spencer winced as her clothes grazed his burnt chest, but he hugged her back. It was simultaneously the most painful and most welcome hug he had ever received. The flowers were set in a vase on the bedside table.

"So, how are you feeling, dearie?" Muffet asked, concerned. Spencer wanted to say he was fine, but couldn't lie.

"Honestly, I feel like a piece of steak left on the grill too long then cut by a butcher with dull knives." Spencer replied, laughing nervously. Muffet giggled at the analogy.

"Well, you certainly look better than that." She said. Spencer looked down at his body, disagreeing. Muffet kissed him on the lips quickly and left the room, blushing.

Katie opened her eyes when she heard footsteps coming closer to her. Sans was running up to her. She really could understand why he was so frantic to get to her. But she knew how to quiet her boyfriend. Of course, if she could get a word in. He was asking so many questions, and so fast that is was hard to ever understand him. But Katie still managed to calm him down, but he decided that he was going to stay and was asleep on her neck.

Spencer decided to find Muffet, and talk to her more. He rose from the bed, and noticed that he wore his pants and that was it. He looked around for his shirt, scarf and sweater. He found his clothes on the wardrobe. He put them on, wincing as they dragged across his bandages and was about to head for the door when his vision went white. He stood in a white room, and saw Fortitudo Gaudium standing there royally in his blue cape and robes. He smiled and waved at Spencer who smiled back and walked towards him.
"Hello young one." Fortitudo Gaudium said. Spencer nodded back, saying hello. "I brought you here to congratulate you and explain myself." The spirit of power and joy said. Spencer was confused.

"Why congratulate me and what have you to explain?" Spencer asked.

"You defeated Furorem Vis, overcoming him through pure willpower and bravery. No mean feat. Spencer, you are definitely the strongest avatar I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. For I chose you for two reasons. One is that I saw your capacity and strength within you. And the other was because Furorem Vis had chosen you as his next target. I couldn't let you be corrupted without a choice. I wanted you to choose your path, not have one forced on you. Spencer, I leave you now for I have very little left to teach you. All I can say is that, in just one week, you have found the adventure you had long since pined for. Do not end it poorly." The man said, cautioning the young hero. Spencer nodded, understanding. Spencer's vision faded and he found himself standing in the doorway as it was flung open into him. Undyne had flown into the room to see him and had nearly brained him.
