*Flashback*

This was back in Ohio. A few years ago when Jakes family invited Chance Anthony and I to go camping.
They rented a house for all of us to stay in.

Everyone was outside at the campfire.
A family camping near us had a few kids our age. Tony hit it off really well with one of the girls and they spent the whole day flirting. I had also found a really cute guy and we kinda spent the day together too. But I had a guilty kind of feeling the whole day.

We were all at the campfire. Me and this guy were...
Well we were flirting pretty hard.
The whole day Chance was avoiding me. But at the campfire. He looked really upset. Tony and his girl started making out. Then the guy I was with leaned in to kiss me. I backed away, for some reason. He looked really embarrassed. I mean I didn't have a reason not to kiss him, I liked him, he liked me. So I leaned in and kissed him. When I pulled away I saw Chance getting up and saying bye to Jake and Logan. We made eye contact and he had the most heartbroken and at the same time annoyed expression on his face. Then he left.

I felt the urge to run after him so
I left the campfire without saying bye to anyone. And I followed him upstairs.

"Chance."

No reply

"Chance. Please. Why are you mad at me?"

"Brooke. Just stop, I'll see you later." He quietly said as his arm went to close his door.

"No. I want to know why you're mad at me." I stopped him from closing the door, and walked in closing it behind me.

"I'm not mad at you."
He says turning around to sit on his bed.

"Well you're not happy with me."
I go to sit next to him.

"It doesn't matter. Go back outside with your boyfriend."

"He's not my boyfriend."
Chance looks down at the ground.
"Chance? Are you jealous?" I put my hand on his chin and raised it so that he faced me.

"No."

"No what?"

"I'm not jealous."

"Then what's bothering you?"

He stayed quiet for a little longer.

"Okay, fine..... I'm jealous."

I wasn't sure what to say.
I looked down at the ground.
He put his hand on my chin and raised it so now I was facing him.

"Chance. The four of us have known each other for awhile now. We're all best friends. I don't want to ruin our friendship. You know I like you. I think you feel the same.

"I do." He quickly responded.

"But I don't want to ruin what
we all have."

"I know, I don't either." He said looking at me with his beautiful green eyes.

"Don't look at me like that."

"Like what?"
He whispered knowing exactly what I meant and how it made me feel.
We sat there in silence admiring each other.
Then he slowly started to lean in.
My heart beating faster and faster
A million thoughts racing through my head
I wanted us to kiss I wanted us to be more
But at the same time I wasn't sure it was the right thing to do. I wasn't sure I was ready.
And before our lips touched someone was knocking on the door. We both pulled away and I uncomfortably cleared my throat.
Chance went over to the door to reveal Jake behind it.
