Chapter 12

I passed the garbage and tossed the paper towels in it as I ran to catch up to David. My eyes became watery and my dress flowed behind me as I ran through the crowd. A group of people placed them selves in front of me and started to dance. I quite simply pushed through them ' accidentally' making a short, blonde, trip over her red sparkling heels. I mouthed the word 'sorry' and continued to run.

" Oh hey." I said in a hurry as I bumped into Selena.

Why is it that every time you were in a rush every one and their mother had to show up? ( as my dad would say.)

" Oh hey, what's up?" she questioned.

" I got to go." I rushed to say as I ran beside her.

I looked back " sorry! " I squealed, finally catching up to David.

I grabbed his arm and quickly turned him around. I pulled him close to me and kissed him, he pulled me closer before I let go.

" David I love you, you have to believe me, I'm not good with this kin-"

" Shh!" he said, pressing his finger against my lips before giving me another quick kiss.

" Eva, calm down, I believe you." I started to smile,he grabbed my hand and lead me somewhere.

" David, where are we going?" I asked confused, which clearly showed on my face.

" Don't worry, I want to show you something." David reassured me.

I smiled trusting him as he held my hand tightly, I grabbed his hand with my free hand and held on to his. His warm hand warmed up my heart.

He lead us out of the dance, pushing the brown door's stainless steel handle. The door's paint started to peal, showing an ugly white.

We walked a few blocks before making it to a pond. David and I sat on the bench. I leaned my head on his shoulder as I never once let go of his hand. He glanced over and kissed me on the forehead. I looked at the beautiful pond. The frogs croaked. Two trees were planted on the side, letting in the wonderful moonlight. The water was crystal clear, the reflection of the moon glistening, lilly-pads every then and there.

"It's beautiful." I awed,trying to break the silence even though I was enjoying it.

This was turning out to be a great night and I was hoping maybe one day,David and I might have something. I glanced up looking above us, I saw what looked like millions of stars as a beautiful cloud hide about half of the moon.

After a while I looked at the time. It was 11:13 pm and I probably should have be going home soon. I hated to break the moment, that seemed to be the best of my life.

" Would it be okay if I went home soon?" I asked David moving away from his shoulder to see his face as I talked to him.

" Ya sure, i'll text my mom." he stated as he texted his mother.

I placed my head on his shoulder again seeing as we would have to wait for a response anyways. Not long after I heard David's phone go off, he glanced down at it before pulling away and standing up, always holding my hand. I stood up, looking down at the bench making sure I didn't forget anything. I quickly stopped and pulled David closer.

" Thanks, for everything." I gave him a quick kiss before pulling away and getting one last look at the stars before we made our way back to the dance.

We sat on the comfortable leather seats from the back of Rose's car as she drove me home. Before we left, I explained to Selena why I was in a rush and said bye to everyone. We arrived at my house. Rose looked at me and started to speak,

" Are your parents home?" I was guessing she wanted to talk to them seeing as they were good friends.

" Ah, no they went out for dinner." I stated trying to get out of this, I slide over, grabbing the handle to the door that was still locked. I was hoping that would be enough and I could leave.

" Oh okay, their car is still in the-" I cut her off and started to talk,

" They walked!" I said so quickly it was hard to understand, as I stiffened up and my face turned red.

" Oh , okay, well bye I guess, see you next time." she said, hitting the red lettering on the little black button to unlock the door.

I gave her a fake smile and thanked her for everything before giving David a quick look, wishing I could give him a kiss but his mother was there and I wouldn't want to embarrass him. I closed the car door and made my way to the house. I pretended to go to the front door until they left our driveway, then I quickly made my way to my room.

I had took off all my makeup, straightened my hair, since it wasn't naturally curly and hide my dress back in my closest. I was laying on my bed with a big smile on my face as I though back of tonight.
