Chapter 22
He glanced at me, waiting for a response.
" David" I plead.
" What?" he said, his voice softening.
I stood there, thinking of an answer he would believe.
" That's what I thought." he said before storming off.
" David!" I squealed.
" Oh, there you are! Where's David?" A voice said, as they touched my shoulder.
" What do you want!" I snapped, looking into Josh's crystal blue eyes that I hated with all my guts right now, even though he really didn't do anything.
" Take a chill pill, I wanted to stop by and wish David a happy birthday and you never gave me that geography page." He stated.
" Well you should not have came and how did you even know about this, I never told you or anybody and now David thinks I invited you."
" Oh well, uh... you told me, don't you remember?" He questioned.
I never told him but that wasn't my priority, right now I had to I after David. Before he saw me talking to Josh and thought the worse.
I rolled my eyes and left.
I walked to the food table and looked around but no sign of David. I frowned and kept looking.
I turned around and hit Rose, who was holding a pitcher of raspberry juice. It went flying out of her hands, the red juice splatting on the ground, making a big red spot on the white carpet. Are you kidding me? Why white floors? Why would you even have a white carpet around food!?
I stared at the spot on the ground , I was sorry and frustrated at the same time.
I took a paper towel and cleaned it up before Rose could even get her hands on the towels.
I wiped it up as quick as possible, it kept its shadow but most of it faded away making a lighter red.
I picked up the glass from the now broken pitcher. The bits making all different shapes and sizes.
I looked up, I didn't say a word about the broken pitcher or the big spot. Instead I asked something else, I know I could have at least have said sorry but I didn't really think, I mean what if that was a crystal pitcher or if it was handed down from her ancestors?
" Have you seen David?" I questioned, setting the dirty paper towel on the table, beside the bowl of potato chips.
" I think I saw him go outside." She uttered, still shocked at what happened.
" Ok thanks."
************************************
I found David sitting by the door step, his face buried in his hands as the house light shined on his dark brown hair.
" You ok?" I mumbled, afraid to hear his answer. I slowly approached him almost like a dear approaching a bird.
" I'm fine, I'm just not sure you are." he said.
" What do you mean?" I asked all emotional. I felled bad that I had ruined his birthday party, especially his 16th.
" I mean with you and me."
" Your obviously getting no where, your going to have to be more specific." I said.
He took a deep breath before speaking.
