Alex's POV
Waffles. The heavenly scent that woke me from my slumber.
Hell yeah. I just said that.
"Where is the syrup?" I heard Yuliet call from the kitchen.
I groaned as I sat up; the air mattress had deflated during the night and my back was killing me.
"SALLY! Shut up!" Lexi called through her closed door, "I'm trying to sleep!"
Not so much an early riser then.
"Get up, you lazy good-for-nothing!" Ashley yelled, walked out of the kitchen and started towards Lexi's door.
About halfway, she tripped. Over my mattress. Because a giant inflatable bed in the middle of the floor is extremely hard to spot.
Muttering curses, Ashley righted herself and restarted her mission to get her friend up and out of bed. She reached the door and began to pound on it with all of her might, screaming out the lyrics to one of Asher's favorite songs. Ashley rammed her shoulder into the door, forcing her way in.
Because she couldn't have just turned the handle....
Ashley shut the door behind her, so I couldn't see what was happening, just hear the strange noises that sounded.
"Jen! Leave me a-" pause, "No! Stop it! Ahhhhhhhhh!"
There was a loud thunk.
"Get out of bed."
"I AM OUT OF BED, YOU BAKA!"
"You are now."
Ashley exited the room and walked back to the kitchen looking proud of herself. She was completely oblivious to the incredulous looks that we were giving her.
When she saw that even Yulie looked shocked, she smirked and said, "She's out of bed now."
Lexi walked out of her room, looking like she was just dragged through hell and back. Her hair was a curly mess and her pajamas were somehow crooked and wrinkled.
I hit those thoughts out of my head as she stumbled around. She too, tripped over my mattress. I really needed to take it down before somebody got seriously injured.
It took Lexi several tries to get back to her feet. Good grief, she was acting like she was Asher drunk. And Asher gets really drunk.
"Nobody talk to her until she gets her coffee," Yuliet advised as Lexi made her way to the kitchen.
Ashley, still carrying a I'm-higher-then-tho air around herself, handed her friend a cup of pure, black coffee. Time seemed to slow down as she shakily lifted it to her mouth. Lexi basically inhaled the whole thing. Her cheeks puffed out as they filled the dark liquid. Her eyes widened and crossed as she took in the bitter taste of unsweetened coffee. Lexi's face turned a shade of green and she did an epic spit-take.
All over Asher.
We all erupted in laughter while Lexi wiped her mouth with the back of her hand and Asher's face slowly reddened.
Ashley handed him a towel from a conveniently placed laundry dryer. He wiped coffee mixed with spit off of his face and grimaced at the now embarrassed Lexi.
"That was so disgusting," he said, frowning at the towel.
"You're telling me," Ashley said, pouring waffle batter into the maker.
Yuliet rolled her eyes and resumed her search for the syrup.
Then, a loud bang sounded from behind me. I whipped my head around, seeing a blurry eyed Cole walk out of Lexi's older brother's room.
