The raven hair boy walked back and forth across the lounge room, fingers through his hair. He was frustrated. He looked back over at the younger brown haired boy who was sitting on the sofa across from him, staring at the raven haired boy.
"Why?" He spoke suddenly
"I don't know..." the other one replied quickly.
They both huff out of frustration, confused on what to do next. Both afraid of the one solution that either one does not want to happen.
"This isn't working, we aren't working" The older boy said sitting down on the breakfast bar stool
"How? We can make it work... like we always do" the younger one pleads standing up on his unsteady feet.
"This is different Dan. You... cheated on me wi-th him..." He shakes "For months" he trails off quietly.
Dan watches as his boyfriend as he shakes out of pain. The worst kind of pain, heart break. He didn't know what to do. Should he comfort or leave him be. The boy starts choking from the overwhelming tears escaping from his oceanic eyes, Dan quickly rushes over to him ignoring all the warnings in his head. He places his hand on his back and starts rubbing up and down to comfort the boy.
"NO! Get away from me" he pushes Dan's gentle hand off him and backs away into the kitchen as far away as possible from the person who hurt him the most.
Dan takes a step back away from him now knowing he needs his space. The eyes that once looked at him filled with love now look at him with anger and betrayal, the eyes Dan can look into all his life and never get bored.
"Phil... I'm sorry" Dan apologies
"Sorry won't fix anything Dan and yo-you know that" he cries, his back still pressed against the counter "Not after the damage you have done" he then trails off
The words hurt Dan but it hurt Phil more to say them as the image of Dan and the other man on the sofa... kissing. The image shattered Phil's heart repeatedly, watching his boyfriend touch someone else like he does... did to him, he couldn't bare it. Dan can never understand the amount of pain that he is going through, NEVER.
"Why am I not good enough" Phil whispers to himself loosening his muscles again "Is there something wrong with me?" He continues a bit louder this time, tears slowly making their way down his already red cheeks.
"You are perfect, Phil. I just don't know what I was doing, my brain wasn't in my head" Dan admits taking a step forward but watches as Phil tenses up again, not wanting the one who betrayed him to go anywhere near him.
"Then why did you do it?!" Phil says looking at Dan directly watching as Dan's facial expression changes "Then why did you go behind my back and find another person to-to do... THAT with!" He cries out again, burying his face in his hands, muffling the loud sobs escaping his mouth.
Dan stays silent, not knowing what to say. He never wanted to hurt Phil but he had to be so stupid to fucking cheat on him and now look what he has done... he has broken the innocent boy. Phil has never done anything wrong and never deserves to experience this pain not one bit. Dan wants to stay with Phil so much but he knows all it will do is cause more problems...
"I'm leaving..." Phil says suddenly
Dan's face drops...
"I'm sorry but I can't look at you the same anymore" He continues, brushing his dark hair out of his eyes looking at Dan who has a shocked expression plastered on his face.
Phil walks out of the room and into his own to collect his own belongings.
Dan was hurt, Phil was hurt, what they have been dreading all night has now come true.
Phil walked out with majority of his things packed away in the bag which was hanging off his left shoulder, his phone held up to his ear
"Yeah- Thank you so much- I'll be there soon- Bye" Then he hangs up
Phil looks up from his phone and sees Dan still standing in the same position that he was in when he had left him
"I'm really sorry Dan, I tried so hard but it hurts me to much..." Phil sympathetically says to Dan.
And then he was walking out the door with his brain telling him to turn back and it takes a lot for him not to turn back and hold Dan again but he continues walking down the stairs leaving his Ex- Boyfriend in the apartment.
Upstairs Dan was on the ground, crying his heart out. He has just lost his best friend, his love and his life. Dan had a hole in his heart that only Phil can satisfy.
"I'm sorry Phil, I hurt you so much and you didn't deserve it"
